I called WDW this morning to book a room only in April 2009. I wanted a suite in ASMu. Of couse, once I heard the total cost for 7 nights I decided I had to talk it over with my DH. I didn't make a reservation.
Fast forward to this afternoon and I get an e-mail from the Walt Disney Travel Company confiming my reservation for March 2008, 7 nights at PO-FQ, 7 days park hopper tickets, etc. I called back to let them know this wasn't my reservation & suggested that another call after mine might have gotten mixed up with my information.
I spoke to custome relations and they said they'd "investigate it". Has anyone else had this happen to them, either a reservation they didn't make or their own being put on someone else's account? The e-mail I got said final payment was due this Friday, so I really hope they get it taken care of quickly.

On a final note, I did get a quote for PO-FQ & ASMo for next April when I called back and I think I'll be booking that ASAP.

Perhaps the CM went ahead and put it on courtesy hold for you, without you knowing, or interpreted your desire to think about it to be you asking them to do so? Either way, they dont have any payment info for you so luckily you should be in good shape in that regard. While I've never had it happen to me personally, I've heard of this happening with ADR's when a cast member fails to close out the previous caller and make changes as requested by the current caller to the former's reservations....

I had the same thing happen to me last year when my call dropped in the middle of getting a quote. I decided we wouldnt go, but a few days later I received the confirmation papers in the mail. I assumed the CM went ahead and booked it to be on the safe side. I just never paid the deposit and let is cancel itself.

I thought of that too, expect the reservation that was made was for March 2008 at PO-FQ. My call was about ASMu for April 2009!! The call back in the afternoon when I told them about the faulty reservation is when I mentioned PO-FQ. I'm not so much concerned about being charged for something as I am that someone else will be missing a reservation.

That's what I would be concerned about too. You aren't worried about having this reservation because it'll cancel for you. But that person who called after you (your information was probably left up on the screen) is now possibly without a reservation and doesn't even know it. Hopefully, that person called back to make their deposit and everything was taken care of. You have done everything you could.

Now watch there be a post in a few days about someone who called to make a deposit and Disney didn't have any record of their reservation.
