Hello!
We just submitted a contract for a BW resale that has points in "Reservation Status"
I know the general rules - when we need to use them, where we can use them and the $95 fee associated but I had a couple other questions I can't find the answers to:

1) If we book these points at Yacht Club, can we add the dining plan to our reservation if we are annual pass holders? What if we aren't annual pass holders?

2) Can we book a split stay with these points? For example, 2 nights at Poly, 2 nights at YC? If so, will we be charged the $95 fee twice?

3) if we find a combination of nights runs over the points allotted by a couple points, can we pay cash for the difference, or are we stuck with trying to make the most with the points we have to work wi?

Thanks a bunch!

It is my understanding you cannot use them at any resort that also has a DVC.

Poly Yeah! YC/BC not so much. If you picked 2 resorts Say Poly and FQ you would pay 2 fees.

I don't know the last one. :)

Wow, this is kind of confusing :confused3

So, you are purchasing a DVC contract via resale?

If so, you likely won't be using the points at one of the traditional WDW resorts. You could, but it costs a LOT of points. In addition, the ability to do this will no longer be available on resale contracts that have not been submitted for Disney's Right of First Refusal by March 20th.

Also if this is for a DVC membership, you can add the DDP to your reservations, but it costs extra (members that use points are not eligible for free dining or other incentives provided in a vacation package).

If you an RCI member that is trading into DVC from another vacation club, then I will stand aside and let the my knowledgeable collegues answer the questions.

Either way, welcome!

Thanks for the replies so far. I had a feeling it would be two $95 fees as I would imagine they would be treated as two separate reservations with a resort change.

Just curious still about dining plan. Can dining plans be added to "Disney Collection" reservations (Poly, GF, etc)?
We will probably be annual pass holders so we won't be buying tix. I wasn't sure if this poses a problem with adding the dining plan at a "collection resort"

Thanks!

Adding the DDP as an AP holder (so no tickets) requires booking either a rack rate room or an AP-rate room. A points stay would not qualify for either of those.

BUT you might be able to add the DDP as a DVC member. But you would have to ask member services. I have not heard of anyone doing that (with a Disney collection stay, I mean).

Also, you CAN book at the Yacht Club, just not the Beach Club. A PP lumped them together, but it's not the same - they are 2 different resorts.

You'd better hope your real estate company submits it to Disney for ROFR by 3/20 or you won't be using them for much of anything and it will be a moot point. Any resale contract submitted to DVC for ROFR after 3/20 will not be permitted to use any points at all for the Disney Collection.

It has already been submitted for ROFR.
Now the wait . . .
:)
