Reservation Refill: Hollywood Studios v. Magic Kingdom

Looking forward to 1 week stay @ CCV in 5 weeks.....irrespective of the Orlando heat and humidity. I have my park reservations, but has anyone noticed that when Disney added additional reservations were added to park capacity, the dynamics changed? Prior to the addition, Hollywood Studios "sold out" the quickest. In fact no July dates were left. Now HS has availability everyday, but MK is sold out for the first 17 days. Any thoughts on why? As simple as just more spots added at HS? Has capacity been that low v. MK to warrant it?

I'm hoping it means they are planning to re-open shows at HS and therefore added a greater number of spots - but that may be wishful thinking! I noticed the same thing and have the same questions.

Thx. I actually have my reservations and am good to fo but am monitoring as it struck me as interesting. Took two HS days so have some flexibility. Sold out, but now it’s not and MK is

There was a recently a thread on this board by someone who booked HS every day of their trip for a family of 9 on the theory they would change their passes to other parks closer to the trips, then found themselves shut out of MK and desperately wanting some MK days.

The "hoard extra HS" strategy was advocated by an influential blogger, and recommended by many on these boards.

So we could be seeing that with the replenishment, the HS hoarders are dropping their HS reservations in favor of other parks like MK that were sold out previously, creating more HS availability, and selling out MK faster.

I think people are reserving more Studios days because they used to sell out so often, but are changing it once more MK is available.

Also I believe they are increasing Tower of Terror, Rise, and Smuggler's Run back to full capacity.
