reservation questions

how far out can you usually book? ( i'm looking for 2010, so far they don't have my dates listes)

and if you book at one rate & a special comes out can you roll over that booking to the lower rate?

I'm not sure how far out the dates come out but I know we booked our December trip in March and I have changed my rate twice to lower it most recently in October for an AP rate.
