Reservation question

I just tried to book a reservation for POP. I have stayed at Disney many, many times since it first opened. I was not allowed to make a reservation because I did not have my mother's postal code readily available. I have never been asked to provide a postal code for any friends or family traveling with me in the past but this reservation agent would not allow me to make a reservation without the postal code.
I then told the agent to just make the reservation with only my name and then I would call up later to add my mom when I had her postal code. He would not allow me to do this. He then put me in touch with a supervisor who explained that it's Disney's policy to get the complete address and telephone number for all persons on the reservation.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Were you trying to book with a pin code? That is the only time I have ever been asked for a zip code. It sounds like you are trying to book a room with a pin your mom received? If so, please be aware that you mom has to go on the trip, or else you will not be eligible for the pin code rate.

Thanks for your reply maxiesmom. I was wondering if I'd get a response.
I did not try to book with a pin code. The supervisor told me that it's Disney's policy to get everyone's full address in order to book a room and it's been that way for at least 9 years. She said that agents can lose their jobs if they don't do this.

I would hang up and call back and book never mentioning my mom and then add her later. What a ridiculous policy! Just what is the point of this?!

gichicdoc,
That's what I did this morning. The funny thing was that the supervisor last night said that everyone's address noted on the reservation had to match their ID. I mentioned that when I've traveled to Disney only the reservation holder had to show their ID. She said that for some things everyone's ID had to be checked. She could not provide me with one example where this is the case.

They are wrong. I made a reservation last month for our Sept vacation at POP. My DD's (20) best friend is coming, They just took her name, she lives in the neighborhood and is an adult (21) They didn't even ask for her address at all. (I booked 2 rooms, one for me, DD and DD friend, one for DH and DS) She obviously has a different last name. It all depends on who you get....:confused3
Oh and we got a package- free dining
