Reservation/Planning Question

I'd like to hear some savvy DVC opinions on this question! We are planning a 4 night trip in October, arriving on Wednesday and departing on Sunday. I can borrow just enough points to book any three nights, but not enough for all four. My use year is December, so in a few weeks I can add in the fourth night. My question is, do I book the Wednesday-Friday night portion first and hope that the Saturday night will still be available in December, or do I book the Thursday night-Saturday night piece first and hope that Wednesday is available? We specifically want a 2BR with a BW view, so I really want to make sure we get that.

Use year has nothing to do with when you can make your reservation. If you can't borrow the points now, you won't be able to in December either. For a stay in October 2011, you will be in your 2010 use year. You can borrow all of your 2011 points now if you need them for a reservation in your 2010 use year.

For a stay in October 2011, you could use banked 2009, current 2010, borrowed 2011. You don't need to wait to call. Those points are all in your account now. If you want a boardwalk view for October, you need to call right at 11 months, someone just posted that they did not get all 5 nights that they wanted for a boardwalk view for next October.

You can borrow from 2011 now. Use year has nothing to do with when you can book.

You can book the entire reservation at one time. WHEN you book has nothing to do with use year. You can borrow those 2011 December use year points for the October 2011 reservation November 20th this year. You will be allowed to use banked points from 2009 use year....points from your 2010 use year...and borrowed points from your 2011 use year. You don't have to be IN the use year to borrow them. You just make your reservation at the 11 month booking window, and they will take the points from the correct use year.

Your points don't mysteriously show up in your account on Dec. 1st. They were there all along. You have your allotment of points already there for each year of your contract (could be up to 49 years worth). Which points are used has nothing to do with where you are in your use year when you call. You just have to be able to borrow from that use year when the reservation occurs. Since your October reservation is in your 2010 use year, you can borrow ahead from your 2011 use year AT THE TIME YOU MAKE THE RESERVATION.
