Where is a nice place to make a reservation for dinner for 7 adults and 4 kids? (on the dining plan)

Thanks!!

Biergarten is nice if you want something a bit different and does family style bench tables so they fit a lot of people. Also most of the buffets have large tables in nice areas for big parties.

One place I probably wouldn't suggest unless ur happy to split on two seperate tables is the Japanese resturant as I believe only 6/8 fit around the kitchen tables.

Sci-Fi Dine in is nice but due to the party size u might not get a car table but one of the normal tables which aren't as much fun for the kids.

Parks: LTT, Tony's, Biergarten, Nine Dragons, Marrakesh, Tokyo Dining, Brown Derby, Mama Melrose

Resorts: GF Cafe, Citricos, Ohana, Whispering Canyon, Artist Pt, Spoodles, Boatwrights, Cape May, YC Galley, Raglan Rd.

All of these would work well with a large group.

We were able to get 8 adults and 3 chids (2,5,6) into Chef Mickey, and Thanksgiving week 2006.

Made ADR's 90 days out, and we were all seated at 1 big table each time.

Almost anyplace will work with a group that size.

Do you know yet which park you will be in on that day? That can help to narrow it down some, by limiting your choices to restaurants in that park or at resorts nearby.

For a group that size I think your first choice should be a buffet, which A) gives everybody the ability to choose what they want and leave the rest, and B) buffets are generaly noisier, so if your group gets a little loud it won't disturb other Guests like it would at a non-buffet.

Since you have 4 kids in the group, a character meal would be good, and since most character meals are buffets, that helps you narrow down the choices, too. I'll break down my faves by park area:

MK area: Chef Mickeys in the Contemporary (character meal), or Trails End Buffeteria at Ft Wilderness (no characters but hands down the best bargain at WDW)

Epcot area: Beirgaten in World Showcase Germany (no characters, but an excellent buffet)

MGM area: Hollywood and Vine in MGM (no characters, food very ordinary but excellent quality, very good for unimaginative picky eaters)

AK area: Tusker House in AK Africa (no characters) or Boma in AKL (also no characters). There is some crossover in menus between the places, but both are excellent and relaxing. Boma gets the vote for best surroundings - the incredibly beautiful AKL lobby.

We came back Dec 18 with our group of 8 adults and 4 kids. The restaurants below worked perfectly for our group of 12 (character dining buffets):
1) 1900 Park Fare
2) Garden Grill
3) Crystal Palace
4) Chef Mickey
5) Liberty Tree Tavern
Kids, parents and seniors loved the character dining each meal. Buffet was quick and had something for everyone. If all 12 couldn't sit together at one table, then we split up into 2 tables side-by-side.
