We are of course, going as a family. All of our meals are planned together, but my 2 DGDs, ages 3 & 5, eat almost nothing. The oldest one doesn't like meat, eats mostly salads and fruit, a few veggies, and DGD3 eats very few things altogether. Looking at some of the menus, I know we are going to be throwing money away, especially for breakfast. They only eat cereal, and only certain ones. We want to do character breakfasts, but some of the menus do not offer cereal, or it may not be the one or two they actually like. Is it possible to be seated as a family and not order for them? We can't very well have them wait outside. How is it done? TIA!

At a restaurant with a menu, you'll have no problem. But you'll have to pay at buffets, all you care to eat and dinner shows.

We had a reservation for 4 recently with 3 of us ordering and one of us having just an iced tea or something and it wasn't a problem.
As was said previously, you may not get much value out of the buffets then.

yeah, unfortunately most character meals are AYCTE (a fixed price meal), so everyone sitting at the table gets charged. Generally the argument is that character meals are partly about paying for food and partly about paying for character entertainment. I can't remember seeing cereals out at any character breakfast I've done, but it might be something that's available by request? I don't know, but I could imagine places have some kicking around in their kitchens. Most breakfasts also have fresh fruit. Others might have better tips about maximizing the value of character breakfasts with very picky eaters, but unfortunately I don't think price reduction is the way.

Thanks! That helps tremendously; I appreciate the feedback! Cape May, I recall there was cereal and fruit, but I guess Akershus is out for us. I'm not paying 60.00 for 2 bowls of cereal and a little bit of fruit, lol! We're already doing CRT lunch, so that's good.

Unfortunately, this won't work at character breakfast buffets.
As stated, everyone is charged full prices at all buffets, all you care to eat meals, and dinner shows.

If you go to any character meal with your little ones thinking they will eat their money's worth, you are looking at it the wrong way. Heck, I don't eat my money's worth at any character meal. You need to be ok paying that much for the experience. And the character interaction at Akershus is some of the best, imho. And I really enjoy their breakfast--so much that it was on the s hort list for my trip this fall. I still crave those potatoes.

I agree, that I don't eat enough at Buffets, but, I eat the proteins and lots of
fruit, and then sit and enjoy the characters. We aren't rushed and so I can go back a few
times after the characters make their rounds. I have reservations for Crystal Palace breakfast
and 1900 Park Fare for dinner. Park Fare is for my grandson as he wants his picture taken
with "Cupcake" head (Lady Tremaine). I may cancel that one as it is way overpriced....

Park fare is our fav character meal at WDW. I thought the price was fine given the quality of food and the fun characters who are very interactive. Compared to the horrible food at Chef Mickey it is a 5 star restaurant.

This trip we're doing CRT, Park Fare, Gatden Grill, Tusker House, F! H&V and dinner at BOG. I know it's only the Beast at that one, but I think we've got plenty of characters
