I need to use 65 banked points by 8/01. How likely is it to get a studio at OKW in June for 3 nights at this late date. I can't call MS yet because my purchase contract has not been completed yet. The timeshare resale I'm buying suggested paying the title co. an additional $45.00 to record the deed in 2 days. Would this be worth it? Thanks for any info.

Seems to me the $45 more than offsets the loss of 65 points, if you can't use them by 8/01. The sooner you make the phone call to get the ressie, the better it is for you to obtain the dates you need. I'd pay the $45 just for the comfort of knowing you can make the call and get the deal done. Certainly beats lossing those points. Keep in mind that since you are already in the 7 month window, if you can't get OKW just keep on trying at any other DVC resort untill you get a booking.

I was able to get a reservation for May 30-June 1 at VB just last Fri. I know it is their slower time, but hopefully there will be some openings at WDW. We had also thought about using points to stay at AKL during that time.

While I was on the phone with MS regarding my own ressie, I enquired about studio availability for June at OKW after reading your post. There are still some studios available but you will have to move quickly. MS said there weren't too many left for June.

Good luck!

Dave is right; $45 is pennies compared to losing those points. I have paid the "Special Service" fee twice, and they move pretty quick on getting the deed registered.

On the other hand, it took DVC longer than it should have to get the points "into the computer" (which is where they have to be if you want to use them and you're buying resale and not direct from Disney).

Once you know that DVC has a copy of the deed, be persistent with MS to get those points on your account !

I agree that I would certainly consider the $45 a worthwhile expenditure.

ALso, if it happens that you can't get a studio at OKW, don't rule out using those points at another Disney resort. When I got myself in a jam with having points that could only be booked at the last minute I used them at the Poly. At the time it hurt to use that number of points for a couple of nights but I fugured it was better than losing them. When we got a surprise upgrade to Water View Concierge it turned out to be a fabulous value! They could hardly pry me away from that Concierge Lounge!

How did you get an upgrade to a concierge room? Can you pay to upgrade to a suite? We just added on 100 points, but our year is June so we will probably lose them. Any suggestions? Thanks
