Reservation Email Error?

After a couple hours of getting room/tickets/etc reservations back on (disney had cancelled them without telling us for no reason) management assured my wife that we would get a good price and be taken care off, etc. I got an email confirming our resort room stay and 1 ticket purchase.

The emails says that the total 'cash' for the stay says it is about $2,000. Then it lists room prices for the days we are there. The email knows we have an extra adult for the room. There is a price for park tickets we bought for one person. The total for the room = $300 less than the $2,000. But if you add the park tickets the cost is about $200 more than $2000. There is no way to get to $2,000.

At the bottom of the email it indicates how much we have paid so far. It is correct. Also a price is shown for a deposit we owe (which is odd since we already paid a deposit).

When I added our reservation to the disney internet account it said our reservation was about $4,500!

I then called disney. They gave me a room price of $2,000. The breakdown of what the rooms costs per night is about $75 more a night than what the email says it is. We were definately not 'taken care of' with this price.

Is this common? I would like to rely on the reduced room prices quoted in the email.

This post is extrememly hard to understand. Perhaps you could copy and paste the email ("x"-ing out any personal info and reservation #), and maybe we can help you figure this out. Without knowing the dates/resort/# of people/# and length of tickets, there is no way anyone here will be able to help you.

Thank-you for the reply. I agree it is confusing. I'm very confused myself on how they arrived at the numbers they did and I'm not bad in math. Rather than take up more peoples time I'll email guest services and see what happens.

Let us know how it goes...hope it works out for you! :)

The issue seems to be that the room prices on the confirmation email did not include an extra adult cost (plus tax). Even though the extra adult is listed on the email.

They have no idea why the 'amount due' coming up the disney website is about $2k more than what we owe. Too bad it isn't the other way around!

FWIW, the Disney website area that shows your "reminders" about amount due and making dining reservations often acts up. My reminder to pay the balance stuck around one time after the ressie was paid off, and one time it disappeared when I still had money due....
