Reservation downsizing (no show fee)

I have a reservation for 3 at a high demand restaurant. It will only be two of us now.

Because of demand and short notice, there is zero chance of me switching to a two person reservation at the same time slot.

My question is will I get dinged with the no-show fee for the missing person, or if they will let it slide since most of my party is present.

only places where you would need to change number would be if it was a prepaid restaurant. if not that then I would not worry plus they could not sell one seat as it is not a separate table from your 2 even if you could change

Just to verify with a "been there, done that". I often go solo, and yet I book all my ADRs for two people, just in case. "Just in case" has never happened, I show up for my ADR solo, yet I've never been charged a "no show" fee.
