I booked SSR for 2 weeks for August 2009 about 3 weeks ago. Although mydvc.com has the reservation in my personal information, I have not received any confirmation in the mail. Do they still send these out? I suppose I am in the UK, but think 3 weeks is a bit of a long time. Thanks.

Not sure if they are still mailing them outside of the U.S., but I can tell you mine take 2 to 3 weeks to receive and I am in the U.S. As long as you see it online, I think you should be fine though. :)

Mailing the confirmation is not automatic. The Advisor has to request it and we have found that sometimes they forget.

I was asked how I wanted to receive my confirmation & I told them by both snail mail and e-mail - She said normally they only send e-mail and using the e-mail addy listed in your file so if you did not specify that may be where it was sent- Check and then I would just make a call to check- My snail mail confirmation came 13 days after booking.

I'm also having trouble receiving my confirmation letters. I have asked four times since July for my Oct. reservation and so far I haven't received it.
I made a reservation in July for 2009 and I haven't received any confirmation letter as of yet. I've asked twice for this to be sent and haven't received it yet either. This all started when they made changes to the computer system. I never had this problem in the past.
I wish they could send the confirmation by email like CRO does would make things a lot simplier.

I have had problems getting confirmation letters consistantly for the last 2 years.

It was especially bad last September when we used the developer points from an AKV add-on. These were not the more restricted ones that they are giving out now, but at the time the reservation had to go through a "special" Member Services person. I've heard mixed reports about whether they are still doing it this way, but this definitely effected confirmation letters for developer point reservations. It took 3 requests and over 4 months to finally get one for that reservation. Since developer point reservations do not show up on the member website (you do not have to explain it to me, I know why), the confirmation letter is all you really have to know the reservation exists. Really puts a kink in using those "free" points!

However, I have had problems getting them for regular reservations, too. I find that it usually takes at least 3 weeks to get to me here on the left coast. I know I'm not close, but I can send letters across the country in 2-3 days so it just does not need to take this long.

Although we have always received a snail mail reservation letter, it's always at least 2 weeks after receiving it online. I think this is one area that should be improved by DVC. If it takes that long in the states, it would be even longer for overseas.

I always receive a confirmation in the mail without any problems. It has taken 1-2 weeks to receive it but thats because they aren't mailing them out right away.

Glad to hear this. We booked on August 8 and requested hard copies of the confirmations. The CM said I would receive them in a few days and also by email in a few hours. I haven't received anything either way and we are located in the U.S. They are listed on the member site so I will print them from there. Thanks for the heads up CarolAnnC.

Thank you for this bit of information. Our last 2 reservations were never mailed to us - and a lot more than 3 weeks had passed. I will instruct the next MS Advisor accordingly.
