Reservation change with restaurants with a credit card hold??

My DD just informed me that she may not be able to join us during our summer trip due to a conflict with dates with her college summer classes. I have 3 restaurants booked that needed to be held with a credit card.

What happens to those reservations if it is booked for 4 people but only 3 appear? Do I get charged? I looked at some of the dates already and they don't have any availability if I change to 3 people.

Does anybody know the process with the new rule? These were not signature restaurants but now just require a cc hold.

With the new system, I don't think there is a definite answer yet. It has been speculated that they will charge $10 per missing person.

There's still conflicting information out there about what happens if you show up with a partial party. I'd call and ask about how to remove her.

Yes. They SHOULD be able to amend the reservation. If they say they have to cancel and rebook and nothings available, ask to talk to a supervisor.

I would call the reservation line and change the # of people. I had to do that for our trip in December when my brother came, and it wasn't a problem.
