Reservation Change Penalty at the Swan?

We have the Swan booked for 2 nights (Dec. 23 & 24). If we decide we only want to stay on Dec. 23, will we be charged a penalty to make that change.

I haven't called yet, just thinking about it now--but I thought I read somewhere that you are charged 1 night's cost if you make a change.

I believe you can cancel/change 5 days prior to check in Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right that is the normal policy. I don't know if there is a different policy with just a 2 night stay or during Christmas Week. I have read about some penalty charges for people getting the $99/night rate during December, but that has usually been when people have changed their reservation and not cancelled.

This is the blurb at the bottom of my e-mail reservation confirmation that I received today:

"Many Starwood hotels in North America have an early departure fee. When you check-in, you will be asked to confirm your departure date. You may be able to change your departure date without a penalty if your rate plan permits and if you do so before the end of your arrival day. After reconfirming your departure date, if you decide to leave earlier, you may be charged the early departure fee. Please contact the hotel if you have any questions."

I will say that we left early last year (after getting rained out), and we weren't penalized for the early departure.

Their rules may have changed though...........

Thanks everyone! DH has decided he would rather us stay both nights and get up at 6:00 am on the 25th and leave early (getting home late that night).

So we will be keeping our reservations for both nights. Thanks again!
