Reservation/ can it be done

I had already made reservations for a november trip to the world before I bought my HH timeshare . Now I would like to switch to a dvc resort using my points, but is it to short of a time frame to be able to get in?

It is a two step process. You need to call for the DVC reservation and see if anything is available and it may be difficult to get anything at this time although often SSR is available that late. After that reservation is made you need to separately cancel the cash reservation. DVC member services has nothing to do with that and cannot make the cancellation. You have to follow required procedures for that reservation-- and I believe you need to make that cancellation in writing before the time you would incur a penalty for late cancellation.

I don't think you need to cancel in writing. If made through Disney, just cancel at least 45 days before arrival if you booked a package and 7 days before arrival if it of a room only reservation. As PP said availability will be tight but it can't hurt to check with member services. Don't forget that you can always do some days on points and some on cash depending on availability.

There is VERY limited availability right now for November. I would plan on keeping your Original reservation. It obviously can't hurt to call though.

I presume you bought resale? If you bought direct, I would talk to your guide, often times for new purchases they can magically get availability for a situation like this.

If not, just give them a call and see whats available, you might get lucky, depending on the dates in November you are looking for.
