Reservation availability

Yesterday I searched for lunch reservations at Via Napoli on both 8/6 and 8/8 and found nothing between the hours of 12 and 3:30 for either date. So, I decided to try out the TP reservation finder (excellent resource, by the way) and put in my request for 2:30 on 8/8. A few minutes ago, I got a notification of availability on 8/8, so I went to make the reservation and found that there were multiple reservations available around the time that I was looking for. Out of curiosity, I looked at 8/6 and again there were also multiple open time slots for lunch that weren't there yesterday. Does anyone know why this would be? Surely that many people didn't happen to cancel in a 24 hour period (there are open slots like every 15 minutes now). Do they sometimes open up new slots? Just curious (and glad I was able to get the reservation I wanted!).

Disney is constantly adjusting staffing levels based on projected demand. So, yes, they sometimes add additional openings. But it's not what I'd call "common."
