reservation availability

Was wondering how accurate the resort reservation availability board is. Tried to book a studio today at BLT or AKV and they said no studios at all are available. The board just shows the value ones are booked for March 1st thru March 8. Is the guy on the phone wrong? Thanks for any help

Oh it's not at all accurate in a sense that you can only see what's definitely NOT available but no way to know what's available.

Does that make sense?

The board is based on DIS members reporting their booking experience.
If no one is reporting on your dates then you won't really know the availability until you call.

Only as accurate as the people who choose to post there make it. So a tiny population of the overall DVC membership - DIS Board Members, and the a small population of those -- people who frequent the DVC Boards, and then a smaller group that actually feels like posting that they found no availability.

It is a much better indicator of what is NOT available, than what is (and that still can change in an instant).

But you can make it more accurate for your dates (as of this minute), by posting the non-availability that you found in the thread.

Your best bet is to call MS and check directly.

Well did you report it on the availability thread? It's not the most accurate especially if people do not bother to report.

I would always call MS and not rely on it.

When you see "no reports", it simply means that there have been no reports from DIS members as to whether or not those dates are booked.

Just as you called today and found out there are no studios anywhere, you would also have to put that into the thread in order for that to show up for someone else to know.

I use the board for more of an idea of what might be difficult to book. So, if I am going in August and want to try for AKV concierge, I look at the board to see if it is listed. If it is, then I know there is a good chance that when I call, my chances are probably slim.

Availability does change all the time so even if someone reports a date as booked, it could still be available since people change there reservations all the time.
