Resellers - a big deal?

There's really nothing inherently wrong with reselling, but the issue is when those resellers strip the stores bare of the highly-coveted item unly to jack up the price expnentially. This doesn't just apply to Disney merch, but any hot item like games consoles, etc. It's a big problem for toy collectors. I know Disney tries to limit the amount bought for certian things, but they find ways around it. That to me is unscrupulous. In the end though, it's up to the buyer - if they want to pay an exhorbitant price for a certain item, then that's their perogative.

I do not support reselling. There is not a product Disney or any other company creates that I need badly enough to buy it from a reseller. I haven’t bought anything from eBay since the whole store idea took hold. When it was more like one big garage sale, I enjoyed it.

I wish Disney would enforce their purchase limits so everyone who is at the park and wants to buy an item will have the opportunity to do so. Some people have suggested requiring a scan of the AP in order to purchase, and I think that would help. I just don’t see any way to stop it completely and that is unfortunate.

Well, I am not an EBay person, my wife did buy a few used paperback books there, but that was more than 10 years ago. But it is a good place to find odd items that are not commonly available. A former co-worker quit his job and buys stuff at garage sales to resell. His business model is simple, he won't spend more than $10 for an item, and he doubles the price he paid to sell on Ebay. He does big business in used Tupperware, if you need an avocado green or orange tupperware bowl, I bet he has it.

My son is on call at a UPS store, he says more than half of the businesses are resellers. one reseller specializes in reselling Trader Joe products on Amazon.
