Rescheduling

Hi folks. I'm due to arrive "home" on Thursday, but unfortunately my husband is having some medical/dental problems. We were going to try to tough it out, but what kind of vacation will that be... so I am planning to call this AM to try to reschedule.

I read all the stuff on dvcmember.com about ressie changes so I know the official info. Does anyone have any insider tips or things I should know before this process. I will likely be pushing the trip off by 1 - 2 weeks based on SSR availability, of course.

One other question, matter of opinion... would you reschedule for the week of Memorial Day (too crowded?) or first (crowded because of gay day) or second week of June (school trips)? We are self employed and luckily have the flexibility to choose a timeframe. I'd love some advice.

If it's any indication of crowds, Disney was giving away value rooms on priceline for $35 a night during gay week.

Sorry you have to reschedule.

Memorial Day week will definitely have the lighter crowds. Gay Days has scheduled activities and park days. I would avoid Saturday at MK because it will be extra crowded, but other than that, we have never had any issues with crowding and we go this week every year. After the holiday, the crowds will drop.

I checked y-day for May 28 and it is sold out completely. Not sure about the rest of the week.

The 2nd week of June may have more availability at SSR. The 1bdr seem to be plentiful.

Thank you for your responses. I have also been in Disney for 2 years during the "gay day" festivities -- it's my anniversary 6/6, so I know the crowds to expect. I would prefer to go the Memorial day week just because it's closer, but based on things today DH will be on meds for 10 days... we might as well wait until he can enjoy a drink or two in addition to not having to be concerned with being in direct sun.

I'm waiting for DH to wake up to call member services. I'll let you all know how it goes. I might not even be able to get availability at this point.

I had a similar problem last week. we went but dw didn't venture out much. I call ms before going and a 2br was available at ssr for the next couple of weeks. Based on what I was told... you shouldnt have a problem getting a room. Good Luck

We accidently went to WDW during gay days in 2004. My personal opinion, avoid it at all costs.

Alls well that ends well... I was able to get 6 consecutive days in early June at the SSR.

Will be there during the festivities, which doesn't bother me in the slightest. I would just like to clarify that my question was strictly referring to crowdedness of each week, not the crowd itself.
