I know a credit card is a less than optimal way of making any large purchase, but I have a rewards card with a large available credit amount that I could use to buy into DVC to take advantage of the card's benefits and low interest rate.

Do anyone know if any resellers take credit cards. As far as I can determine so far I would say they do not, but if anyone would know it is a member of this board!

I'm not sure if the re-sellers do but I do know that you can purchase through Disney with a credit card.

No, and I doubt you will find broker willing to pay the additional transaction fee if they happen to have a merchant account.

I just went through this and you can not use your actual card. Since it is a realestate purchase they want "real" money.

I got checks from AMEX for the purchase with the intention that I would still earn the skymiles. It turns out that the person on the phone that promised me the checks also accrued points was wrong.

Check with our credit card company to make sure that convience checks still earn rewards.

I just knew I was going to get a free airline ticket out of the purchase... oh well.

I, too, checked into this, as I love to charge everything possible to earn cash back, credits, etc. I am not aware of any way to use a credit card directly to make this purchase through resale. You definitely can use the credit card to buy through DVC.

Thanks for all the answers, they are about what I figured. I did not for sure know that Disney took credit cards, but I am not sure it is worth the "rewards" for the higher Disney cost per point. Although, BCV is a good location.......

With the new MB at $10.00 off per point, it might be. Where is the place you would want to stay? That should be the first question to answer. If it is BCV, then paying the few extra bucks would be worth it for 40 years of what you really want (plus the extra miles).

many great timeshares but not DVc POiNTs

My only problem in choosing a resort is like that of so many other people here-There are too many great choices! I certainly would not turn up my nose at Beach Club, and since my family is more of an off-season traveling family (we ususally travel early January) we may be able to trade to another resort from time to time.
We do not however go to WDW every year, more like every 2 to 3 years. Although given an excuse, I am sure I (and my daughters) would love to go more often.
