We are interested in adding on 100 points to our OKW contract, would like some inputs! Is it better to go thru Disney? The points are lower elsewhere, but is it worth the trouble? What do the closing costs do to the final price? I have heard that the cost comes out to almost the same as the Disney price! What about different use years? Someone said I might have to have two member numbers? It all sounds like it can get complicated! I!Need some advise from you resale experts!

We bought into the vacation club last summer but spent about a year prior to that gathering information. What we found was this: looking at the costs of a resale looks appealing in that the per point price is lower. However, once you do factor in the closing costs it does equal out to be that of Disney (especially with the various incentives they have going on- we ended up taking the price adjustment versus the points for the current year since we weren't planning on going until this year). Although Disney usually does not reject a resale contract, it has happened a few times. I have heard a lot of people state that they went through a resale and had no problems. Dealing with Disney was fast, friendly, and extremely easy. Personally, I wouldn't risk the possibility of being the few that has a bad experience with a resale. There's my two cents!!:p

I have done it both ways and was satisfied both times. A resale can be considerably cheaper depending on the banked points. Sometimes it may be a matter of whether Disney has the resort and use year you need available. I would call and check with them. If you are on a waiting list you can check resales in the meantime and see if a good contract becomes available.
