Resale shopping again.. my heart wants one thing but my head says another. Give your opinions.

I'm getting caught up on the thread.

I grew up in Iowa and am/was well aware of the slur. Sadly, it was a common one to hear in the 90s.
I have no desire to ever go on the Skyliner. It freaks me out. I get nervous just looking at it on our walk from the bus stop to H

We did the whole resort monorail loop while waiting for our BRV room to be ready. I didn't notice a smell....but it was January so not super hot out. And I was wearing a mask. 😁 But I feel like those little cars could get smelly in warmer months!

I'm really looking forward to hearing what you think of all the resorts/transportation when you get back! The only DVC we've ever stayed at are BRV and VGC. Some of the transportation options have me more hesitant to want to stay at some of the resorts.
I get a little freaked out when the Skyliner stops and we are just sitting there, my son loves that, it makes him feel like we are the Pal-a-round at DCA.
WDW transportation is a whole thing, so many in and outs. I read something recently that said WDW is the size of San Francisco so that put it into perspective for me.

Doing my daily stalking and a bungalow just became available, so there is a slight chance it will be empty the day we will be there, so maybe t hey would be willing to show us. Im not baller enough to book it this trip though.
Darn it got booked.

Oh you’re preaching to the choir 😂! I’m exactly the same way. Returned home beginning of May, after another 10 day glorious VGF trip, and dove into researching add-on contracts. Ultimately added a 50 point direct add-on at VGF, making all of our points there direct (our SSR points are all resale points). We opted for direct, even though it was a hefty price upfront, because I wanted the ability to use those points at CFW, RR, VDH, Lakeshore, and any future properties.
I've been in the same mindset as well. Having enough direct points to use where resale is restricted. Still great to have resale for the majority of resorts though!

Day one
Check in and Walk BLT to MK.
Spend some time at MK
Boat or Monorail to Poly for tour by 1:30pm
Walk from Poly to VGF
Boat or Monorail from VGF to TTC to Epcot Monorail
Spend some time at Epcot
Bus or Monorail from Epcot to BLT

Day 2
Checkout and Bus from BLT to HS
Spend some time at HS
Skyliner to RIV by 1:30 for tour
Bus from RIV to DS
Boat from DS to SSR
Bus from SSR to MK
Boat from MK to CCV
Dinner at CCV by 9:00

Day 3
Boat from CCV to Ft Wilderness and CFW tour if available also to see Ft Wilderness grounds
Boat to MK
Boat to CCV pickup luggage
Leave for flight at 3pm

We may or may not try to squeeze in OKW this day but doubtful.

My take is that having stayed at VGF I would never take the monorail to the TTC from VGF and instead walk. Others likely differ but its a good idea to see how long it is.

I would also add the walks between MK/VGF and DS/SSR to see those walks. If you are not a family that would ever walk though then no point in doing them.

I think on Day 2 you would have time to do OKW. So you could walk to OKW from SSR (through golf course so possibly not allowed these days and might need to boat from DS). You might even see about FW on Day 2 and use Day 3 to go back to the resort you like the best in the morning.

Actually
If you have an AP I would redo Day 2:
BLT -> monorail to TTC -> monorail to Epcot -> walk through Epcot -> boat to HS -> Skyliner to RIV -> bus to DS -> walk to SSR -> boat to DS -> boat to OKW -> bus to MK -> boat to FW (if its early enough still) -> boat to CCV for dinner

I think you could easily do that all in a day and still have the morning for inside Epcot/HS.

We are generally not walkers except for if I become impatient like while waiting for buses. We do have an AP so that is a good suggestion! We have never entered Epcot via the Monorail area before only through IG

Unless you will be doing split stays typically its a really good idea to understand how long getting to Epcot can take from MK resorts. It is more predictable than bus timing though IMO.

The goal for future trips is not split stay. So I do want to see how I getting from BLT to Epcot compares to when we did BWV to MK

Have you been to Downtown Disney in Anaheim? How does it compare?
The only reason we were skipping AKV was because we stayed there last month.
I haven’t been to Disneyland before, just Disneyland Paris!
Oh right, then fair enough you can skip AKV this time
I just find Disney Springs uninspiring and I’d rather eat at a park or a resort.
I also prefer the Character Warehouse at Vineland if I feel the need to do Disney shopping

I was there a couple of weeks ago. We were at WL and wanted to see the cabins at FW. The boats don’t run between the resorts until after 3pm. We took a Lyft over. It was very fast and around $10. We were dropped off at the front parking lot and then took a bus from the Outpost to the Settlement area where the models were located. Then we took a boat to MK from there. I believe the open house was between 12:30 and 1:30 just like the PVT, but the DVC cast member in the WL lobby will be able to confirm.
If you don't have that much time, there's a bus directly from WL to the Settlement at FW. Not only are the model cabins there, it's also the location for Crockett's Tavern (have a cool drink while watching the boats come in from a rocking chair on the porch), Trail's End QS, Pioneer Hall (home of the Hoop Dee Doo Revue), and the Tri Circle D stables where the Disney park horses live (the trail ride horses live in the stables at the Outpost).

On one of our last trips we tested out doing a split stay, I hated it. No plans to ever do that again unless we stay for more than a week maybe but only just maybe....

We have stayed for 3 weeks and now 2 weeks. I never want to switch. It's great fully unpacking and basically have it be home.

We also get some groceries and moving stuff is a pain if you have to keep things cold/frozen.

The red iguana in salt lake is legit. Worth the wait and I’d put it with the running of some of the best sit down Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at in my lifetime.

For CO I’ll forgive their desire to give most items that green chili sauce as it’s tasty. Not what I grew up with but it’s yummy.
I can vouch for the Red Iguana as well. As good as any you will ever find.

I am the split stay 👑 . 1 night available, no problem 🤣🤣
I don't mind doing split stays, but my husband grumbles about the packing and unpacking (even though Disney is great about getting stuff door to door) and since he's already the more reluctant Disney vacationer, I try to defer to his preference for single resort trips.

Same. We are fine not having a room during the day but since he does the packing and unpacking of clothes he has declared no more split stays. But we are doing a split stay this weekend 🤣 Since it's just us and 1 night each it shouldnt be too bad.
