I think you will like BLT and CCV and decide that a mix of MK resorts and a Crescent Lake resort is the way to go.We are still going next week, I am somewhat glad that I am a bit sour on DVC at the moment for various reasons. Maybe this will combat the addonitis.
Word to the wise when you return from a trip high on pixie dust don't make any big decisions in regards to DVC or Disney. I should give myself a rule to not be allowed to touch my DVC account, this board, aggregators or broker websites for 3 weeks after I return home from a trip.
I fell like you are gonna end up being right on all of this. I didnt get Poly this time so will be staying at CCV for the first timeI think you will like BLT and CCV and decide that a mix of MK resorts and a Crescent Lake resort is the way to go.
The BLT remodel looks great and the WL lobby is unmistakable craftsmanship.
I also think that you’re are going to find the PolyT absolutely beautiful. I personally loved the Poly, but my wife said there is no need to own Aulani and Poly.
It’s a bit of a bummer that the Grand Floridian lobby is under construction right now, but the grounds are still beautiful. I’d recommend having dinner at Citricos during fireworks.
Yes, but you will go walk around Poly…. so you’ll get the vibe.I fell like you are gonna end up being right on all of this. I didnt get Poly this time so will be staying at CCV for the first time
I will. In my Disney Files the lobby looks amazing. But my 10 yo asked me if it was knock off AulaniYes, but you will go walk around Poly…. so you’ll get the vibe.
The rooms are just an elevated version of the VDH rooms.
My wife said the “outside isn’t nice enough to be called an Aulani knockoff… but the inside is beautiful”.I will. In my Disney Files the lobby looks amazing. But my 10 yo asked me if it was knock off Aulani![]()
The front really leaves a lot to be desired. No water feature on the sign like the main resort, no dedicated guard gate (just a swipe after checking-in at GCH), no tiki torches, and a dirty monorail beam cutting through the frontMy wife said the “outside isn’t nice enough to be called an Aulani knockoff… but the inside is beautiful”.
I mostly only saw it from the lake side since I was walking over from VGF. There is a very nice walkway between the resorts that make it easy to pop over for the yummy breakfast pastries. The front really leaves a lot to be desired. It's nice the walking path has returned connecting the two resorts!I mostly only saw it from the lake side since I was walking over from VGF. There is a very nice walkway between the resorts that make it easy to pop over for the yummy breakfast pastries.
It’s probably a similar walking distance to Gasparilla Grill as it is to PolyT.
The inside though, if it looks anything like the magazine photosThe front really leaves a lot to be desired. No water feature on the sign like the main resort, no dedicated guard gate (just a swipe after checking-in at GCH), no tiki torches, and a dirty monorail beam cutting through the front

Rumor is the torches dont often work at Aulani. Maybe Disney has a problem with torchesIt's nice the walking path has returned connecting the two resorts!
I still wish there were some torches on that side![]()
Hm, I'd rather go through GCH, then, and walk to Poly Tower through the resort grounds. Unless we have too much luggage! The front really leaves a lot to be desired. The inside does look nice. I hope they keep the CMs stationed with iPads for check-in/concierge-related issues! The inside though, if it looks anything like the magazine photos![]()
The OG Poly resort torches actually work pretty well. I think the claim is that the building is "eco-friendly" so no gas torches, but in reality, it was probably a decision that came down to cost.Rumor is the torches dont often work at Aulani. Maybe Disney has a problem with torches![]()
Our guide gave us a tour of the resort while we were visiting. It looks great and very much look forward to staying there in the future if we can.The inside though, if it looks anything like the magazine photos![]()
Yes, GCH is definitely more welcoming. I wonder if Bell Services will drive you over in a golf cart?Hm, I'd rather go through GCH, then, and walk to Poly Tower through the resort grounds. Unless we have too much luggage!
We were at Aulani last month. The "torches" are just light ups.Rumor is the torches dont often work at Aulani. Maybe Disney has a problem with torches![]()
Yep saw them in March. Actually t totally forgot I saw them until you just jogged my memoryThat's interesting about the torches. I'm pretty sure they are still operating at the Disneyland hotel by Trader Sam's.
