We are still going next week, I am somewhat glad that I am a bit sour on DVC at the moment for various reasons. Maybe this will combat the addonitis.

Word to the wise when you return from a trip high on pixie dust don't make any big decisions in regards to DVC or Disney. I should give myself a rule to not be allowed to touch my DVC account, this board, aggregators or broker websites for 3 weeks after I return home from a trip.

I think you will like BLT and CCV and decide that a mix of MK resorts and a Crescent Lake resort is the way to go.

The BLT remodel looks great and the WL lobby is unmistakable craftsmanship.

I also think that you’re are going to find the PolyT absolutely beautiful. I personally loved the Poly, but my wife said there is no need to own Aulani and Poly.

It’s a bit of a bummer that the Grand Floridian lobby is under construction right now, but the grounds are still beautiful. I’d recommend having dinner at Citricos during fireworks.

Yes, but you will go walk around Poly…. so you’ll get the vibe.

The rooms are just an elevated version of the VDH rooms.

I will. In my Disney Files the lobby looks amazing. But my 10 yo asked me if it was knock off Aulani

I mostly only saw it from the lake side since I was walking over from VGF. There is a very nice walkway between the resorts that make it easy to pop over for the yummy breakfast pastries.

It’s probably a similar walking distance to Gasparilla Grill as it is to PolyT.

The OG Poly resort torches actually work pretty well. I think the claim is that the building is "eco-friendly" so no gas torches, but in reality, it was probably a decision that came down to cost.

Our guide gave us a tour of the resort while we were visiting. It looks great and very much look forward to staying there in the future if we can.

If doing a studio only trip, I'd go for the longhouses. But if we have enough points for a longer 2BR stay, I think it would be a worthy splurge for the family.

Yes, GCH is definitely more welcoming. I wonder if Bell Services will drive you over in a golf cart? I should check on the PVB owners thread.

We were at Aulani last month. The "torches" are just light ups.

However, one night while on the lazy river there was suddenly a big glow behind me. I looked back and one torch was ablaze. Few seconds later and it was back out. Never saw another one with the the fire going the whole week. Weirdest thing. And no, I hadn't been dipping into Mickey's special punch bowl.

So I emailed my guide to ask if I can tour Poly whenever without an appt. He said just any day 12:30-1:30, no offers to come meet me etc.. which I am happy about, but then again why not?? hahaha
