I currently have a friend thinking about a resale purchase and was picking my brain. I let her know all about the restrictions on resale purchases not getting the perks like AP discounts, and everything else. As a grandfathered resale buyer myself it got me thinking. We purchases shortly after the first resale restrictions were put in place. At the time, none of the "perks" of the those restrictions seemed like a loss to us. When the 2nd restrictions, and now the 75 point direct purchase restrictions member benefits has kicked in......I got a hypothetical scenario going in my head. The price that my current contract is selling for, I could make almost 50% more than what I originally paid. If I were to buy a resale contract of another resort......and then months later sell my original contract......would I retain the membership benefits, or would they take them away? I'm not actually considering this....just a curiosity question.
Why would one actually do this? Maybe changing home resorts would be of interest.....especially with the difference in prices on each resort.
