This may have been asked before, so if that is the case, feel free to redirect me to the other thread.

We just put in an offer on a resale contract with TTS. We already faxed back our one-page agreement and the authorization to charge our credit card for the deposit.

My question is - what happens next? If you could please give me a list of the steps, that would be most appreciated. For example, I know the documents go to Disney for ROFR, I know we mail back closing docs, etc. but I am sure there are more details. I'd appreciate any feedback from people who have done this. I am a planner who likes to know what to expect exactly (and in what order the things will happen).

Thanks a bunch!:thumbsup2

We purchase a resale through TTS as well; after mailing back our initial paperwork& deposit we received an email outlining expected upcoming steps so if you haven't you can call or email and ask them to go over this.

In the meantime ( hope my memory serves me well :rolleyes1 ) this will give you an idea - after our deposit & initial paperwork was received by TTS ( we used snail mail ) I think it only took a little more than 1 week before we were notified that we passed ROFR. Believe then that Timeshare Closing Services then came into the process from there - this part took a few weeks ( title search, estopple, etc. ) and then when we received final paperwork we mailed back papers that needed to be signed & certified check for balance due. It then took just about a week before we were notified that contract was 'closed' (although technically think it's not officially closed until recorded by Orange County comptroller but your points will be in DVC system beforehand & you can call for reservation when that happens - you won't be delayed by DVC waiting for Orange County to record deed) and then less than a week later DVC had our resale contract in the system and we could utilize the points for reservation.

All told, our resale process from start to points being available in DVC system took about 8 weeks.

Best wishes on your purchase :wizard:

Your best bet is to discuss your questions with your Broker. You can get an idea of what should happen from folks here on the DIS but your Broker is the one calling the shots and they are the ones who should keep you informed during the buying process.

Thanks for your thoughts 5forDiz. I appreciate hearing about another person's experience. I didn't mean to imply that I would not be speaking with TTS. I will definitely talk with them. I just figured it was quicker to get a general idea here. We're too excited to be patient!!! We'll watch for our email regarding the steps.

Thanks for the link Mouse511! That is exactly what I wanted to see. I at least can "check off" the steps we've completed. I am happy yours went so smoothly. We are hoping for the same.

Hope you hear you've passed ROFR real soon :thumbsup2

Let us know how it goes pixiedust:

Thanks for the well wishes!! We called at the end of last week to make sure they received our documents, etc. They said they would email us as soon as everything was sent to Disney. We thought it already would be there, but they are waiting on some paperwork from the seller. :sad2: We'll just be patient, but that isn't my strong suit. :rotfl: Once we hear something, I'll be happy to update you all. At least we started the purchase process earlier so we have time to bank and make ressies.
