Resale Goodies?

Hello all,
My DH and I are in the process of purchasing a resale contract at VWL. I know that when you buy from Disney there are item(s) that they give you as new owners: a canvas tote bag or the like. If you buy through resale do you get the same item(s)?

Not unless the seller provides them to you. I've read that some brokers will send you a nice thankyou gift.

We bought 2 resales through 2 different resale companies. The first one we received a Passporter book along with a black and white Mickey Mouse snow globe along with a really nice card. The 2nd resale through the 2nd company - nada...

The resale company we bought through sent me a very nice 'Share a Dream Come True' snowglobe and some discount vouchers for Orlando stores.

We were going to buy SSR before deciding to go with a resale. I received the bag from Disney with the contracts etc. Never signed the contracts, when I called guide to inform her that I decided to go with a resale she said the other stuff was ours to keep.

When our friends bought a resale, they got the original ringbinder of info from the sellers, but I think that was all.

When we did add-ons thru DVC we've received gifts such as a BWV litho.

Our recent add-on was not thru DVC and what we got was a Thank you note in the mail from the resale company. But the $$$ savings on the points and the banked points we received with the resale was worth more than a tote or litho.

You will likely not receive anything from Disney. There have been reports of resale gifts from at least one independent resale agent.

Nada on my resale, too, except for the original purchase agreement from the original owners. Can't imagine why they thought I needed that??? Didn't even get points for several months, so I really got nothing except the cheaper cost.

Yep, we received a wonderful goodie package from one of the two resale agents we worked with. When one of the mugs she sent showed up broken, she turned around and sent us Disney pins for two of the DVC resorts! She's a sweetheart who must go unnamed on this board...

RuthnPaul, I think we used the same resale agents. We recieved an awesome box of goodies and a Thank You card. My two favs are the DVC License Plate and the Passporters.

Certainly sounds like we must have gone through the same resale broker -- seems she is the only one who does this! I'm using the (unbroken!) mug at work and have spent quite a bit of time going through the Passporters she sent to us. Think my favorite is the Mickey Mouse snowglobe/music box.
