Resale contract buying strategy?

Great use of your OKWe Direct Points from that recent sale. If you already have a broad portfolio of points, why not consider RIV resale to stay at RIV? You save a ton of money to trade the flexibility.

No doubt I will be going back to Riviera, but staying in a grand villa there this weekend was 308 points for two nights. A couple months ago I was in a 2 bdrm villa for 4 nights and it was around 300 points then too. To stay there regularly, I would have to buy lots of Riviera resale contracts that could only be used at Riviera and that doesn't work for me. The best part of my direct points is their access to every resort now and in the future and, to me, that makes their direct price premium worth more than the savings on Riviera resale contracts.

But, everyone's use case is different!

Yes. I just signed a contract for another 200 points at the Poly. That brings my point total to 3026. I would say this is the last time I buy points, but I said that the first time too.
All of you comma club members would be doing me a big favor if you could please only refer to your "dues total", rather than your "points total" 🤣

For simplicity, just multiply points by $10. That's what I do.

Honestly if you’re staying in GVs and 2 bedrooms at riviera you’re in an ideal situation to buy resale riviera. High point resale riviera contracts are an insanely cost effective way to stay there. They are one of the best deals out there. And you’re using huge numbers of points in less than a week. It’s not like they’re going to go unused in your use case.

That's a good, cost effective strategy for someone who wants to stay at Riviera and ONLY at Riviera with their points. My favorite part of direct points is the unlimited flexibility. I may decide next week that my new favorite is the Grand Villa at VGF - I do not want to own any points that restrict me from booking that room.

Haha SAME. Visited early December last year, fell in love and came home and immediately bought a contract. We’re there for 10 days in early December, not sure I’ve been more excited to a trip lol 🤩

@Road_Dog, it’s lovely all year round but it just feels so special at Christmas. Grand Floridian and AKL are also particularly incredible at this time of year, too, and I don’t necessarily think WL goes any harder on decorations than those 2 resorts. But Wilderness Lodge just feels like it was made for Christmastime. It’s like old Christmas movies and nostalgia idk maybe I’ve romanticized it in my head but it feels really magical to us.
I go to Disney in early December for exactly that reason, and bought CCV without even seeing it in december, based on a visit in the summer a few years ago. I was late in buying so missed the 11mo window this year and have 2 nights. I am walking a reservation for next year (not my choice, blame the game not the player!)
