Does anyone have a resale agent they've worked with that they really like? Preferably someone very knowledgeable and fast at communicating? Drop names here if allowed! Bonus points if it's from Fidelityrealestate.com or www.dvcresalemarket.com since that's where I'll most likely be purchasing from next 🎊

Ive always just bid on the contract I want and deal with whoever is assigned to it never choose a broker first.
Can you bid on the contract and request a specific agent or the contracts are assigned already when posted and that's it?

You can sometimes make a request when you make the bid, if the site has that option.

My question would be… Why?

To answer your question, whenever we purchase a contract through www.dvcresalemarket.com, I will always request Andy Berry. He’s quite literally the best, and if we happen to find a contract through another site, I always miss him!

I can’t say I’d actually recommend anyone through fidelity. We’ve worked with a few and they’re ok - usually get the job done.

If you are choosing a broker or agent first, you’re doing it wrong. :)
I won't be in a rush to purchase the next resale contract, more of a want than a current need 🤣🤣 so I'd want to work with someone that is responsive and knowledgeable.

I know the www.fidelityrealestate.com system reasonably well. Fidelity is going to have an agent who lists the property and then handles negotiation. After that the sale is going to be handled by one of their contract managers, not primarily by the listing agent. I've had many good experiences at Fidelity with four different agents. All fine. But as to your questions, at least at this broker, I don't think the agent matters as much because most of the actual work in terms of finalizing the sale and working with a title company is done by a contract manager. So do what everyone else is saying: find a contract you like there.

I don't disagree overall but I'll share that I had one totally fine agent with Fidelity (closed last year, no issues) and one terrible experience where the agent's inexperience (at best) or lies (at worst) resulted in a deal that fell through. I might post the details at some point. In general which agent doesn't make a big difference but I'm one datapoint where the whole thing can go south. An agent needs to have good communication, experience working with an advanced buyer coming from these boards, and integrity.

I'm getting so nervous reading about bad closing experiences thru resale, I thought it was in the bag for me now that ROFR passed, but now I'm even more stressed out than before 😅 I've asked sellers some questions thru agent and they are not responding or she's not asking. Either way, feeling scared and impatient 🤣🤣

FWIW. Most of my others have been fine. The 1st one I thought was terribly long and was upset about some things. Turns out it was my best one yet.

Yes I think issues are rare, didn't mean to imply otherwise. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you read the contract before signing and it matches what you agreed to. I was 4 for 4 with resale before a bad experience, and it won't deter me from trying again.

Thank you 😀

I agree with everyone above - contract first, agent second….
