I'm trying to decide what tickets would be best to use to a trip into Paris but the website is in French so I'm having to translate it all.

We'll be going from Marne La Vallee and then it's two changes on the RER to Tour Eiffel, and we'll probably do the same journey back. From what I gather (which is not much :lmao:) the way to go is a Mobilis? 14.20 each for the day. Does anyone know if this is the cheapest/easiest option?

Mobilis is the cheapest option if you are all adults. If you have children with you or are under 26 and going on a weekend there are other cheaper solutions :)

Also you can do 1 change only by going from MLV to Charles de Gaulle-Etoile with the RER A and then changing on Metro line 6 and get off at either Trocadero and walk across the bridge or at Bir Hakeim and walk 200m to the TE

Trocadero is nicer photo taking wise :)

I would also recommend the route Carrie suggests to Tracadero. the views of the Tower from there are the best place and its a nice walk down then towards it.

We're under 26 but travelling on a Friday. I thought we could take RER red line to Chatelet les Malles, then change to the blue line to St Michel yellow line, then to Champ de Mars?

That's just what I got from the RER map.

We were just going to walk from there to the Trocedero.

Sorry if I've misspelled anything.

You don't want to be changing at Chatelet les Halles when you can avoid it, it's a horrible station :lmao:

Far much quicker to do the red line to Charles de Gaulle and take the green metro line 6 and get off at Troca ,it's only 3 metro stops and it's much nicer than going to les Halles and then St Michel and doubling back.

And in your case the Mobilis will be the cheapest solution as the under 26 rates are only sat/sun and public holidays :goodvibes

How is Chatelet les Halles if one is exiting and not transferring? :)

Exiting the metro side (Chatelet) or the RER side (Les Halles) ?

Depending on where you are coming from and or where you going as it can be a long, long walk through here with lots of up and down stairs and moving walkways.

It has 3 RER coming into it and 4 metros so there is a huge volume of people and it's a prime spot for pickpockets, conmen, groups that roam, the homeless and the lost.

The metro side is marginally better especially if you come out of the first exit you find as it's easier and nicer to find where you are going on the surface.

There's nothing of real interest at Chatelet anyway and as Les Halles area above ground is having a major facelift with building works going on for the next couple of years it's best avoided.

You can always come out at Hotel de Ville, Louvre-Rivoli,or Etienne Marcel if it's by metro :)

Ah, merci.

I see now that Hotel de Ville or Louvre-Rivoli would be much better for us.

Sorry to butt in here but we will be staying in Paris one night and then travelling on to Disney. The nearest metro stop to our hotel is St Paul. Which RER station would be easiest to transfer at - Chatelet Les Halles or Gare de Lyon? or any other?! We will be dragging suitcases and buggies so which ever is the quickest and shortest! Thanks.

If you get on the metro at St Paul which is line 1, go direction Chateau de Vincennes and change at Gare de Lyon on to the RER A direction Marne la Vallée-Chessy as it far easier than doing Chatelet-Les Halles and you are going in the right direction rather than back over to go forwards again :)

Actually, I was incorrect earlier.

We'd be coming into Chatelet-les-Halles from the RER A from DLP but needing to get to the *Metro* Chatelet station as that is one (small) block from the hotel.

Is transferring at C-l-H ok (presumably, the 4 Metro line) or would be better off stopping at Gare de Lyon and taking the 1 Metro line to the Chatelet station and then walking up to the hotel?
