Requeting Characters Not Come to Table

I'm not really into character interaction. I did make a reservation at Tusker House primarily because I wanted to have reserved seating for ROL and after looking over the menu and seeing some of the DIS podcast eat there I thought it looked and sounded very good. If I ask that the characters skip my table would they be able to honor that or would it just be better to say hi and tell them thank you for stopping by?

I believe you can tell the person seating you or your server that you would like to skip the character interaction. The characters are always accompanied by handlers, if they don't get the message and you see them coming you can let the handler know you'd just like to say hi and they can be on their way.

In my experience, if your party consists of adults, the characters will greet you and if you don't engage them or interact they will move on. I have no experience with asking that they skip my table, but I think that might be difficult for the restaurant to manage. When a character approaches, I would probably smile, say hi, then turn my attention back to my meal. They will probably get the message.

I agree with this. We were just in Disney for 9 days earlier this month and did many character meals. We wanted the autographs and photos as a group of 4 adults, but we saw this happen at tables around us. You could just say "Hi Mickey!" and wave and do nothing else and he'll move along.
