Has anyone ever requested to camp near friends or family and then put in a completly different loop? Our request have been honored in FW in the past, but my sister and her husband seem to be worried about it.
I faxed in our request 3 days prior to our last trip and I believe it made a big difference. We had some specific requirements due to the size of our rig and they were very accommodating. I would strongly suggest faxing in your request.
We've never had a problem getting sites next to or across from each other. One trip we had 5 campsites and they accomodated all of us. We have never done anything other than cross reference our reservations with them when we made the original ressie.
My sister made her ressie after I did, and so did my friend. They both asked to be near us, so hopefully that will do. We've never had a problem in the past, but my sis and her dh seem to worried about it. Thanks for all the input.
What we do is when we make the ressie, I add my requests then. About 4 days before I arrive, I will send a very nice fax letter telling them how much I enjoy staying at FW and that I have a few requests that I wish they would consider. Remember to put your most important request first, because they will not be able to honor ALL your requests. So, if you have one that you really want to make sure you get, say so.
I then follow up the next day with a phone call and speak to the actual room assignor. (they do not assign you a campsite until 3-4 days prior to your arrival).
It may seem like over-kill, but I get the loop I want.
