I know this has been discussed before...but I recently heard some new info.

What is the BEST way to increase your odds of getting requests?

IF you book direct or through a travel agent or DCL?

If the requests are for medical reasons?

I recently read if you have more kids then adults you are guaranteed connecting rooms.

I am travellling with my FIL who is a closed head injury and my dad who is early Alzheimers....neither can be left alone...so we really NEED the connecting rooms, and my FIL has OCD from then injury and will spends hours and hours and hours on the front porch (even in Michigan winter) counting cars, brick, birds, etc.)....so we need a balcony (no patio afraid he will wander away.)

So how do I increase my chances of getting this request? Connecting rooms at the Poly with a Balcony? Honestly, this could make or break our trip.

My TA is calling in the AM to add a Meal Plan and clarify the Requests....I hope she words it correctly...should I follow up. I booked with DU and so far she has been great.:confused3

Dreams Unlimited is usually very good with requests per reviews of people who have used them. You can also call the Polynesian or Disney Reservations and explain the situation. They usually are very accomidating. We made a request when we arrived at the Polynesian to be in the Tahiti building, and they handled it very well, and we got the request. :)

There is a number for special services due to disabilities/medical conditions. Ask your TA about it - they should be able to find it for you. One time when we had medical issues, we called and they made sure that our requests were honored.

The other thing you can do is call the resort about a week ahead of time. By that time they have your reservations downloaded in their computer and can access them. You can ask to speak to someone re: accomodations for medical reasons and they will get you to the right people. I found when I told them, in advance, that they were very good about meeting our requests.

I hope you guys have a wonderful trip!!! Here is some pixie dust that you will get the requests you need. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

1) Just remember, requests are just requests.
2) THERE IS NEVER A CONNECTING ROOM GUARANTEE.
3) Regardless what the paperwork says.

4) However, WDW does try very hard to accommodate.
5) Just make sure it is noted on your ressie.
