Ok....How is it that you can make many calls, with the same requests...full balcony and queen beds...and call back for something else and the requests aren't noted anywhere.

I had a package booked, BC club level. Changed it to a room only, as I decided that Annual Passes would be a good deal for 2017. I had to cancel original reservation and make a new room only reservation. At that time, I requested that the same requests follow from the package to the room only. Repeated them, and was assured they were on the new reservation. Called back a few days later and bought AP's. Asked if there might be an AP discount available and they were kind enough to push one through, saving us $400.00. At that time, I reconfirmed said requests and was again assured that they were noted. Today, I called to make a payment and asked again to double check requests...and low and behold, they are nowhere noted on the reservation. All this took place AFTER their system changes so that's no excuse.
Of course this CM had no idea as to what happened but she put them in again. I'm not asking the world, just two simple things. WTH!

It happens. The best thing to do is exactly what you did. Whenever you call, just confirm the requests are still there. And, if you don't get your requests at check-in, ask the CM if another room is available. They will do their best to accomodate you if a room is available.

I know it happens...but it doesn't do much for my level of confidence in the whole process. Bad enough you no longer get a welcome Email when paying the up charge for club level rooms, you can't even count on the basics...simple room requests. What did I read...the room assigners start the process 4-6 days prior to arrival? I'm gonna be all over the phone a week out from arrival!

Remember requests are just requests, and even if they are noted there is no guarantee you will get them. I've found it best to not get too tied to getting my requests. It is better to be happy you get them than mad you don't, if that makes any sense.

Of course! I'm simply venting that I've talked to numerous CM's, who have been assuring me that my requests have been noted....yet clearly they haven't been. I don't think 2 simple requests is an overload of info for them to process:). Time will tell!

You would hope they could keep track. Unfortunately I have a horrible success rate with getting requests so I've learned not to get to attached to them.

It seems with your level of dissatisfaction at this stage, that this may not be the correct venue for you. ,

I hear you. We've had requests noted over the phone and they were nowhere to be found at check in. We've also done online checkin and noticed that the boxes you check to make your requests don't always save.

Now we add requests on the phone, do online checkin and a touring plan fax with the same request. We figure at least one of the methods of requests made it through. Sometimes we get our requests, sometimes we don't, but at least they tried.

made numerous requests over the yrs and none ever been met. and we usually go deluxe. been told they just throw away fax. not even sure they allow faxing of requests anymore. also been told that if you keep pestering them with requests they tend to ignore all of them. best way is to ask when you are at counter for available of a request. they will not move someone from a room to give you your requests. it goes a lot by luck of the draw with a room scheduler

I agree. I'm wondering if the confusion lies in the room category that we selected, BC Lagoon or Pool View, club level. My only request is a full balcony, v.s. Juliette. Each call, it's nowhere to be found. Could it be in that Lagoon/Pool view club level rooms are all full balcony?

I would contact the club level itinerary planning office at your resort. They should have sent you an email. Make your requests directly with them, they have always been super helpful for our planning. Good luck, I hope it all works out!

You have been told wrong. On several occasions at various resorts the CM at check in read the notes I put on the fax I send in, verbatim, when I checked in. Clearly the fax was not thrown away and someone went far enough to not only read it but enter the notes in their system. Last time this happened was Oct of this year, at BWI

You are right about your last sentence though. Getting your request is luck of the draw. But they aren't ignored and certainly not out of spite because you pester them.

Resort IPO has been stopped. I'm sure you can still call, but I wouldn't hold my breathe that they'll be able to help anymore than someone 'noting' your request in the system.

Really? When did that happen? We haven't stayed CL since my birthday in late August.

Within the last couple weeks. If you call or email IPO you now get a canned reply or voice message directing you to the Dining and Recreation phone numbers to make your own reservations. They are on hand to assist with these once you check in. But the pretrip planning as we have come to know it is no more.

Ah, ok. I wonder if folks just didn't use them much with so much being online? I know I'd never leave my ADR to them if it was something I really wanted. I never trusted them to get online at 6 AM to book them. Same with FP.

This. I'm sure they did a great job with whatever resources they had, but I'm a control freak that would need to do it myself.

They are working on centralizing IPO for pre-planning for all resorts instead of having staff handling pre-planning at each resort. It hasn't happened as of yet, but should be up and running sometime in 2017. This was the letter that was sent out to CL guests in November regarding the change:

"Thank you for contacting us! In order to provide the best experience for our Guests, our Concierge team will be focused on assisting guests personally with all of their needs once they arrive at the resort. We look forward to welcoming you in December!

As always, our Reservations Cast Members are able to assist you with your planning needs. They can be reached by dialing 407-934-XXXX, 7 a.m.-11 p.m. EST. You may also contact 407-WDW-DINE for dining reservations or visit My Disney Experience.

Additionally, as we are always looking for ways to enhance the Guest experience, sometime after the new year, a new team will proactively engage with Guests to assist with their end-to-end vacation planning."

To the OP, please know that stuff changes and disappears all the time in Disney's systems. I've had credit cards disappear that were supposed to be in MDE so I could charge using my MB. I've had tickets that were supposed to be prioritized become unprioritized. Request disappearing off reservations, etc. It happens. It's not fun and it's frustrating, but it happens. As others have said, a request is just a request and if it's not granted, simply ask again at check-in. It sounds very important to you, but, I just hope if it doesn't happen, it doesn't ruin your trip.

Also, I've sent fax requests through Touring Plans which were read and granted by the resort, so you could try that route as well. Again, no guarantee, but another method to get that request in.

Thanks ErinsMommy for letting me know. I had no clue. Our most recent CL stay was June and this was still available. Sad, seems like another thing being cut. I never used IPO for everything because I enjoy planning, but I always contacted them for help with a few special requests. Too bad.
