This might be a dumb question but I'm going to Disneyworld in August with my girlfriend and we'll be celebrating our 3rd year together. Does anyone know if you can make special requests that it's our anniversary, or does this only apply to married couples?

Note it on your dining reservation.

You are not guaranteed anything but may be wished happy anniversary by the server or possibly get a small cupcake etc.

1) You cna not the anniversary.
2) You cannot request favors, married or not.
3) You can usually get a cupcake with a candle.
4) Anything else is at the whim of the CM's.

You can still note it on your reservation and order the cakes, floral stuff, etc. But all that extra glam comes at your own cost. A lot of the restaurants on property will still do something special like a cupcake for your anniversary, though. Sometimes you get a really awesome cast member that you can talk to and ask if there's anything else you can do as well.

It'll be my bf and my dating anniversary on a day during our trip in December. I plan on wearing the Happy Anniversary buttons that day and making ADR's at Cali Grill for dinner and ordering a specialty cake for dessert from the Contemporary bakery. Any "Happy Anniversary" wishes or extra pixie dust will just be extra icing on the cake for me :). Being at WDW, cake, and seeing my bf proudly wear a button with Mickey and Minnie on it is all I need for a great Anniversary!

With so many people celebrating something at WDW it's getting more and more rare of any extras, but just note it on your reservation. Other than that if you really want something to happen you have to make it happen :).

You can note it on your reservation. They arent' going to ask for a marriage certificate but maybe you could be prepared for the server trying to make small talk like "so how long have you been married?" If you're expecting free stuff, like the previous posters said, it's not guaranteed and you shouldn't expect it - the only guarantee is if you order something that is paid for. You might be more likely to get things like "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate on your dessert plate than to get the dessert itself free.

Yeah thats true. I'm really not expecting anything free but it'd be nice for them to do a little something even if its as simple as Happy Anniversary. I'll definitely be making a note of that on our reservation to the California Grill!

An anniversary is an anniversary! Doesn't matter what you are celebrating! The only problem when my DS and his GF celebrated their 4th anniversary of being together was that so many people asked how long they have been married. They felt funny saying oh we are not married so they just answered 4 yrs and felt funny saying that!! People were just trying to be nice but made them uncomfortable assuming they were married! You can still let them know you are celebrating and wear your buttons. You may get a free dessert or something special. Then again I have been places that don't do anything but say Happy Anniversary or Happy Birthday. Either way have a great trip!

Where on the ADR do you make a request? Celebrating birthday's on the upcoming trip, I didn't think of making a special request. Would love to get a special cake for all of us one night.

I think if they ask how long have I been married, I'm just going to say three years and hope for the best. I've gotta be prepared just in case, who knows maybe just make up that I had a wedding at Disneyland!

No need to come up with a cover story, Disney doesn't require that you be married to celebrate an anniversary. :) If the server asks, just say "we're celebrating our third year together."
