I know you can make requests when you call, and they are not guaranteed. But having been to a certain DVC resort many times, and you know the layout, have you ever asked the CM checking you in if room number xxxx is available?
I am usually pretty easy going, not many requests, take what they give me. The first time I stayed at OKW, before I owned DVC, I was told that being near the HH was key. So that was a request I had, it was not met. OK, fine. A bit disappointed, we got building 56. We had a studio, so we were an end unit. There was a pool and laundry steps from our patio, not to mention the playground. AND it was extremely close to the South Point bus stop. We were THRILLED with the location.
Next trip to OKW, I didn't have any requests other than non-smoking. It was a GV, so I knew locations were limited. We were again put on South Point Rd., but in bldg 49. NOT a good location. It was quite a walk to the bus stop.
So, in November, I am wondering if I can ask the CM checking us in if building 56 has a 2 brdrm for us. Requesting it ahead of time doesn't seem to matter. Or does it?
