Requesting Roommate Help.

Hi everyone! I recently was accepted into the Fall program arriving 8/22/16. I have already found 5 other girls all arriving on the same date and all 21+. And we want to all live together. We are also planning on finding 2 more girls to make it a total of 8. What are the odds of all of us getting our request to live together? Also do any of you have any tips or tricks to increase our odds?! Thanks so much!!!

My roommates and I did this very thing - met online then requested we be in the same apartment - there were 4 of us.

This is what we did...this was over 3 years ago, so I'm sorry if it's changed somewhat...
1) On our online DORMS application, I'm pretty there was a request section or someplace to link applications of other people you wanted to room with on it; we did that. We then made sure we all had the same things selected that we could - like apartment location, wellness vs non-wellness, number of roommates, ect.
2) On our actual arrival date, we met up in the line before the whole process started and basically did everything as one solid group. Once we got our job details, we went together over to the Dorm selection phase and talked with the guy there. We told them our names, that we all wanted to be in a 2 bedroom, preferably at Chatham, and boom it was done. They gave us our keys, took our photos for our IDs and that was it.

Now as for the odds of it happening, not sure. My group was the only people I met that had picked out roommates ahead of time. Everyone I met on my CP did random roommates. I can tell you, though, out of all those people, ours was the only apartment that no one had any complaints. I can't tell you how many times I'd get to work and hear others complaining about a roommate or something that happened at their apartment.

My daughter did Fall Advantage 2015 and found 5 girls she wanted to room with ahead of time. However, she was only able to link online with 2 girls. So they linked in 2 groups of 3 but could not link the 2 groups. When they got to check in, their apartments were already assigned and they were not able to room with the other group of 3.

I'm also wondering this same thing, except for the summer ICP! Are there a lot of 8-person apartments?

Finding 2 more roommates shouldn't be that hard.
I mean I'm looking to be in an 8 person non-wellness with the same dates!

But being able to actually link up with all 8 people is what will probably prove to be harder, since we are going so late (there's only one date after ours) there more than likely will not be many 4bdrm apartments left.

I did the program in spring '11 and I don't remember doing anything official online to select roommates. Has the process changed or am I just remembering it wrong? As far as I remember we just made sure we were in line together the day of check in and we were assigned to live together just because we were in line together. I plan on applying for spring '17 with my sister and assumed we could just be in line together to get the same apartment.

My dd starts on Sept 8! She has found 2 girls that are a good match. They're hoping to find a 4th. I believe you can check on the in the DORMS area. It gives a 'how to' as far as requesting room-mates. It's no longer a case of showing up as a group and trying to get in the same apt. Everything is decided before you arrive.

Definitely read the official blog posted above. My DD is there now and linked with five other girls with no issues. One girl will be in charge of linking everyone and then everyone else goes in and fills out their requests. Sometimes there are only spots to link 2 or 4 people and sometimes it's open to up to 8. If t B-) e availability is there you will most likely get the group you ask for but apartment choice not so much! Mine is perfectly happy with her selected roomies even though they got Vista!
