Preparing our park plans so we can make our dining reservations 60 days out. We will be staying on-site late October 2024. 3 small kids (3-7 years old).

1) Any glaring issues?
2) Which restaurants should I target first when trying to secure reservations (which ones sell out quickest)?

Saturday: Arrive to Hotel around 4pm.

Sunday: Hollywood Studios, Lunch or dinner at 50s prime time, stay for Fantasmic show (never seen)

Monday: Hollywood Studios again likely a partial day, Lunch at Woody's Roundup, leave the park to go swim/relax whenever.

Tuesday: Magic Kingdom day 1, leave at 6pm due to MNSSHP (not attending), Lunch at Crystal Palace.

Wednesday: Epcot, dinner at Akershus

Thursday: Rest day or add a park day, Dinner in Disney Springs at T-Rex

Friday: Magic Kingdom Day 2 (full), Lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table

Saturday: Rest/Swim, or add another short park day

Sunday: Fly Home

You should be able to get the dining reservations you want. I would suggest you switch Woodys and 50s prime time if you are going to be HS for two days. 50s would allow you to bundle it into a Fantasmic Dining package with a reserved seating area. Unfortunately Woodys isn’t apart of the Fanstamic package.

Good luck!

Interesting! Started looking into that... Do I make the 50s dining reservation as usual, and then sign up for the package, or is signing up for the package all part of the same reservation process?

I like that plan though.

Cinderellas Royal table will definitely be the hardest to get so you should do that one first. And you’ll have to pay for that one when you book it too. The rest shouldn’t be an issue to get

You have to specifically search for Fantasmic Dining Packages, and once you put in your party size and date it will give you a list of available slots at the participating restaurants. Here’s a quick sample from the app:

I definitely suggest this if you were wanting to eat there anyway, as it’s really not much more and saves you trying to get a seat. We did this last year as 2 adults having a late lunch/early dinner at 50s and really enjoyed it.

Very interesting, I assume it follows the same 60-days-rule.

One disappointing fact I just discovered is they are removing the option to select an appetizer OR dessert. Now it's just entree and dessert (while also increasing the price). our kids usually it 1/2 a dessert and could have shared one, and shared appetizers. Oh well.

Yes it does follow the standard booking rules (I picked that sample date bc it falls in our upcoming trip). One caveat is that if you’re not seeing any availablity at all at your 60 day mark, it could be that Disney has not loaded them into the system yet. This happens from time to time with certain restaurants but seems to be most common with Fantasmic packages. Just keep checking back or set an alert on one of the ADR crawler sites and eventually a whole bunch will be dumped into the system at once.

And yeah they did also take the app away which stinks, so it’s not as good a value as before food wise. But it is nice to not have to line up so early to get decent seats, especially at a busier time.

I am going to suggest that you don't need the Fantasmic package at 50's. It may be way more expensive. Current package prices are $51/adult and $22/kid. My wife and I split the Fried Chicken. It's 4 pieces! And, I imagine your 3 little ones don't eat $22 worth of food. We have never had issues getting a seat at F! so long as you arrive about 30 minutes in advance.

Great points. I've been struggling with that too. I guess an important question to answer is whether our (technically under 3) year old would need to purchase the package as well, or if he could just eat off our plates or a small side plate, and still be able to accompany to the VIP seating. No way would he eat that much food (and wouldn't be eating dessert either).

Book T-Rex first. With T-Rex, if you can't get it on Thursday at 60 days: 30 days prior, they do release more ADRs. Otherwise, you can also book that on Saturday if needed. Lunch at T-Rex is easier to snag over dinner. Next up CRT. Otherwise, everything else is pretty easy to get nowadays with others choosing to spend on LLMP/LLSP vs. ADRs.

CRT should definitely be booked first. It’s quite possibly the hardest adr to get. You can join Landry’s club (for a fee I think but you get it right back in credit and you also get $25 for your bday month and they don’t verify the month so you can say it’s during your trip) snd walk right up to the podium and be seated. We do this every year. You also can get discounted Landry’s gift cards on Costco, $100 card for $80. Just an fyi. But definitely get CRT first
