Requesting Building at HHI

I will be going to HHI in July, staying in a 1 BR. I would like to request a certain building, but I can't remember where the 1 BRs are. I think I've read before that they are in Buildings 11 and 12 and in several other buildings under the GVs. Is this correct? I know I definitely don't want to be under a GV. So I'd like to request either Building 11 or 12, but I don't know what floor to request. How many floors are there? Which should I request? Also, is it too early to add the request to my reservation or should I go ahead and call?

(BTW, I realize a request isn't guaranteed.)

I found this post with a color coded map:

It looks like the only one bedrooms not under a GV will be in the main lodge building. HTH! :)

That's right! And depending on when you go, if there are people above you, it can sound like a herd of elephants up above. We requested a villa on the third floor of Live Oak Lodge once, and ended up in the building right next to it, #12. On this last trip, we spent a couple nights in a 1 BR villa on the first floor of Building 18. Although it did sound like a herd of elephants above (I think they were teenagers or college-age boys), they went to bed promptly at 10:30 pm and didn't get up before us in the AM. Couple that with our gorgeous view, and we had no complaints! Speaking of views, here's what we saw from our 1 BR in #18-

And our very favorite view was from villa #1132, also a 1 BR-

BTW, dallastxcpa, I drove through Lewisville and saw the big Lewisville water tower yesterday. Where were you? I didn't see any WDW cars!

Thanks for the replies. Simba's Mom, I assume #1132 is in Building #11 (main lodge) on the 3rd floor, correct? Is the 3rd floor the top floor?

There are a total of 21 1BR villas at HH. 5 are located under one of the 5 GVs and the other 16 are in Buildings 11/12 - the Live Oak Lodge. Those buildings are connected and have elevator access and a parking garage. A few of these are also HC accessible. All are lock-off units which will have a connecting door to the adjacent Studio. (There are the same number of Studios.)

I would not request a specific villa - but rather a view or "upper floor- main lodge". With so few of this type of villa, if the one you request is already occupied they may need to put you in one of the other buildings. (Which isn't too bad either - ;) )

Here is a description of the HH Resort.

Enjoy! :)

Sorry to cut in...but are there studios under the GV'S that I should avoid??? Also are there dedicated studios or only lock-offs? DH and I like to sleep in when not in Disney :)should I request the main building? TIA!

The HH Studios and 1BRs are all lock-offs. The 1BRs under the GVs do tend to be a bit noisy just because of the hardwood floors in the dining area. The living room/kitchen of the 1BRs are located directly under the GV dining area but the Studios are a little quieter since they are under the master BR. There are no dedicated Studios or 1BRs.

With so few studio/1BRs the chances are that you will be in the main lodge (Buildings 11/12) unless you request NOT to be in the lodge. If you would prefer to be in the lodge I would make that a request.

Sadly, when I bought my car the one thing that I did not like about it is that I do not have an antenna. So all my wonderful WDW antenna toppers sit sad and lonely in a box in my laundry room. I did think about the decals but my back window is covered by our company logo and my husband has plans for the side windows too. I have never had a bumper sticker before, but if I find a cute one in HHI this summer I may have to break down and stick it to my car. :lmao:

First, yes,#1132 is on the third floor, which is the top floor of the main building. Looking at the main building, it's on the right. Someone asked about studios. Right next to#1132 is studio #1134. It had a nice big balcony and an awesome view. We got this studio when MS "misplaced" our 1 BR reservation and all that was left was a studio. This view really softened the blow considerably-

If you want to sleep in, you might not want the studio we had in Building #28-the view was just "OK" there and not too private also.

Are the studios only in the main building? Thanks!
