Requesting a table for 4?

We are booked on the 4 night Wonder cruise in June 2006. Is it possible to request a table for 4 at the dining rooms. We are not anti-social, but this being our first cruise we would like to spend as much family time together as possible. Our DD's will probably want to spend some time in the lab/club, so that will be time that we won't get to spend together. Who do I call to make such a request?

We have the same situation. I emailed our TA (Dreams Unlimited) & requested a table for 4. They said they would request it but DCL wouldn't guarantee it. Actually now we have added one more person so a table for 4 wouldn't do, would it? I guess they will figure it out.

We took our 1st cruise in April and I requested a table for 4 through our DU agent and we found out it was granted at our first dinner.

Actually, no it doesn't. On our first cruise, we requested and received a talbe for 4 on our second cruise we requested and did not receive a table for 4. We were seated at a table for 8 with another family of 3. It was annoying that first night, but it did work out, they were wonderful people! So, the moral of my story is that if you request it, you might still not receive it.

I requested it this cruise and right upon boarding I went to dining changes to check and see and sure enough we were seated at a table with other people...I asked to be changed to one on our own adn we were...we did sit next to a family at another table that my daughter made friends with the 2nd night...but that was fine...I like sitting by people but not having them share my table!

What size tables are offered?? We are a family of 5 and I debate between sitting with others (hopefully with kids out kids age) but then that would be a very big table!

The tables range in size from tables of 4 up to tables of 12 I''ve seen. With a family of 5, you could be seated with another family of 5 at a table for 10, not unheard of on DCL. Though the kids ages might not quite match up. we sat with another family of 3, and their child was 10. Our kids were 6 and 3 at the time, so an age difference. Though the 10YO liked our little kids and our kids were enamored by the older one, so it did help with entertaining.

Tables range from 4 to ???? The largest table we were seated at was 18, but we were asked before we joined their group of 16 whether or not it was ok.

First, have your TA call and request whatever you want. Then, when you board go to "dining changes" to be sure you got what you requested. If not, request it again. Chances are that they will be able to make the necessary changes. If all else fails, sit wherever you are assigned the first night, and ask the head server to move you if things are not satisfactory. DCL does try to meet requests, but may not be able to if the ship is totally full.

BTW, the time we were seated with a huge family of 16 was wonderful. The little girls couldn't wait to sit on DD's lap, and we found ourselves frequently joining parts of the group at theatre, etc.
