I will be booking a stay at SSR shortly and was wondering if there was any advantage (or if it was possible) to request a dedicated studio vs. a lockoff studio?

I know that dedicated studios at BWV have a daybed, while the lockoffs do not. Do the studios at SSR also differ in this way?

The only units with the daybed are the BWV dedicated studios.

BWV is the only resort that had some of the rooms with the "daybed" (suitable only for small children). DVC also no longer allows you to book this type of room -- it's just luck of the draw.

Our dedicated studio at SSR had an entryway with an extra 'coat' closet in it. More storage area - I was able to stash the suitcases there and our light jackets. No daybed/bench, however.

That daybed is really just a deacon's bench with a thin mattress on it.

I'm confused. According to DVC, there are no dedicated Studios at SSR. :confused3

There ARE dedicated Two Bedroom villas, which have additional closet space in the second bedroom rather than a kitchenette.
