Based on the pictures I have seen, it appears the raw (first) bar area and the first dining room are the most themed of the dining areas.

Is that bar area open seating? Can we sit at a table in the bar area with a 4 year old? Or can we request the first dining room? We don’t need to sit in the boat but I don’t want to end up in the other dining areas that have less theming.

Thanks!

We went last week and requested a booth in the first dining room and was seated within a few minutes. Just ask. You just may have to wait a little bit extra.

Thanks for the reply! There is an avid boater in our party who has not been to Disney since 1978. I am hoping to make the first meal extra special by sitting in the more themed areas.

What did you have and did you enjoy?

Just jumping in here -- sitting outside at The Boathouse has been our go-to meal for the past three trips. With the nice Florida breeze, staring out at the water...don't discount the outside! Also, just to note, we've felt that the first room (which is connected essentially to the bar) to be much louder than other rooms). We find that the sandwiches have been our favorite items here -- their signature burger is seriously fantastic. We've had a steak here which was fine, but slightly disappointing for the price (then again, steak at WDW is always kind of overpriced). Seafood entrees have been a little hit or miss as well, but fared a little better than the steak. The steak sandwich, however, is fantastic as well. I've also had the shrimp and grits as well and it was quite good.

If you have a boat lover, make sure you walk around outside along the docks and see all the boats that are moored at the various docks. The boats are really cool in that they're all very unique.

We shared an order of calamari which was ehh and Ceasar salad which was good. The lobster bisque soup was amazing. My husband had the lobster roll and I had the filet mignon sliders. These were amazing.

You can also book on Open Table and include a seating request with your res, including to sit in the boat.

We just ate there on Thursday evening and it was wonderful. We sat further back right next to the wine rack. There were a number of small boats along the wall on a shelf closer to the ceiling all around the room. We had a 7:15 ADR and arrived around 5:30 and were seated. It wasn't as noisy at 5:30 as it was later on in the evening closer to 7PM. I had the Baked Crab Stuffed Lobster and it was heavenly. My husband had the Filet Oscar style. We will definitely return to the Boathouse.
