My DF is battling lymphoma. He was told last week that he was in remission  , but got a phone call today about his blood work. There is something wrong with one of his organs. Since his color is never good, DM suspects it is either his liver or his pancreas. The chemo basically killed his bone marrow, so he cannot take chemo again for quite a while, if ever. Please pray for my family that this is not cancer in his liver. We have a trip planned to WDW in Nov., realizing that it will probably be DF's last, and he is soooo excited about this trip! He is like a little kid. If something happens and we can't go, he will really be upset. We have accepted that our time with him is limited, but we are hoping and praying that we have at least a couple of more years. Thank you so much for this. He has to go in Tues. for a consultation, so I will give an update Tues. night. Thanks again. :grouphug:

Update:

It took a lot more than a few days, and honestly, I don't think we have much more of an answer now than we did then. Good news first, it's not cancer!

His body has too much potassium and calcium, and it is effecting his kidneys. They continue to do tests, call to say that they don't look good, please come in for more tests, and repeat. He has an appointment with a kidney specialist in - get this - November! :sad2: They are trying to get him in earlier. This is all effects of the chemo it seems. It is crazy how they have to nearly kill you to treat cancer! But hey, doesn't seem to be life threatening at this point so we are happy. Any news that doesn't shorten his lifespan is good news these days. Thanks so much for the P&PD!!

P&PD sent your way! Hugs to you and your family!

Stephanie, I am so sorry! I hope that you get good news on Tuesday and that you can still go on your trip. Is there any way you can move the trip up? Hang in there--I'll be thinking of you and your family.

Prayers said. I am sorry you have to deal with this. :grouphug:

Sending prayers for you and your father, that this is nothing that can't be dealt with and the trip goes on as planned. Sometimes it's the not knowing that makes things worse -- and being left to wait until next week is just mean. Hang in there, and keep your chin up for your dad :thumbsup2

Hopefully we won't have to. We will though if need be. I feel kind of bad taking the kids out of school, but under the circumstances...

We need to wait until it is not stifling hot though, he doesn't tolerate the heat very well.

Hopefully, all will be ok. One of the worst things about this whole ordeal is the period of time between the doctor's call that something is wrong, and actually finding out what it is. Your imagination comes up with all kinds of horrible situations. With this type of illness, unfortunately, you get a lot of these calls.

Thanks everyone so much.

:grouphug: pixiedust: I hope everything turns out okay. Prayers are being sent your way.

Hang in there...I know it's tough...trust me.
My mom went in for a colonoscopy on Tuesday and Wednesday they told her she has rectal cancer. it's stage 1, so that's good. she's already beat breast cancer, so I know she'll beat this.

p&pd to you, and your family....think positive! :grouphug:

Stephanie, I'm so sorry. I know how heartbreaking this can be as I dealt with something similar with my dad.

Sending prayers, pixie dust and well wishes your way for your dad and family. :grouphug: :wizard: :goodvibes

Please keep us informed.

I'm so sorry you all have to go through this. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Hey Stephanie!
prayers on the way!! :grouphug: Hoping for good news on Tuesday.

:teeth:

Everything is in place. I just have to figure out something for he and my DD's to do by themselves. He really wanted to take them to US, but he can't really ride any of the rides. He was disappointed that they couldn't have a day to themselves, so I am thinking of sending them to play miniature golf one evening. Low key, he can sit if he needs to, and they all love to play. Come on November! :cheer2:
