We are booking our holiday for Disney paris on wed to go on Sept 30 '07. We are booking at the Sequoia as we think our two year old and four year old will manage the walk back at the end of the day. Can anyone tell me why I would book a Montana room as opposed to a standard room (I know there is a good chance of getting a free upgrade). I'm not really sure what the benefit is though as the rooms appear to be the same size, beds etc. Any feedback on the Sequoia generally would be appreciated.

Also we are debating whether to go for the half board or the half board plus option which is available at the Sequoia- would be really grateful for any feedback from people who have used this re whether it is worthwhile or value for money, and also the quality of restaurants listed- should we expect to not see any vegetables for the duration of our stay? I have also read that some of the restaurants have a different menu for the half boarders- Is this true? and if so how do you rate it.

Hello there and welcome to the Disboards:goodvibes Im just going to pop this over to the DLP boards for you as Im sure there are many of our lovely DLP guests over there who will be able to help you out:thumbsup2

Hi simmonite and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here as Sue rightly has said, so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

Main benefit of Montana room is that you are in the main hotel block and not in the adjacent lodges. With little ones this might be an advantage rather than pushing a buggy through the trail.

The half board option is quite a new thing but hopefully others will pop in with their experiences :goodvibes

If you have a look on UK Trip Report Boards you will find DLP 4 day trip report by Carolfoy. Carol has just come back and went with the half board option. She speaks quite a lot about this option although not very favourable!!! Hope this helps

Hi!
I would say its worth the money to pay to upgrade to a Montana room plus you might be extra lucky then and still get a free upgrade to a lake view Montana room.
We found it very useful being in the main building instead of a lodge because we could just pop downstairs to go to the shop or meet the characters or to get to any of the other facilities. Especially good if it rains :thumbsup2
We didn't use half board because I wanted the freedom to choose from any of the restaurants and not all were included. The only benefit of half board is that you've pre-payed for meals it doesn't necesarily make it cheaper though.
Have a great trip!

Stayed at Sequoia Lodge in February 2007 with my sister and our two girls aged 8 and 9. Upgraded free to Montana room which was great as in main building, only difference is a mini bar which we didn’t use. Rooms are very spacious. I don’t think I’d pay extra but just hope for a free upgrade. Hotel is lovely, the bar is cosy although I don’t think they’ll have the fire on in the summer, girls loved the swimming pool and slide, we went one morning at 7am and had the pool to ourselves. Great location, walk straight out of door besides restaurants and onto Lake Disney 5 mins from Disney Village and parks.
Breakfast was lovely, loads of choice and not as busy as Santa Fe, also had a table set up outside the restaurant if you just want to grab a coffee or hot chocolate and take with you to the parks (free!).
We had the half board plus meal plan option which was great value for money. Choose this option if you want to eat in Sequoia Lodge as other (half board) option doesn’t include this hotel restaurant.
We had three nights on the half board plus option and ate at:
Beaver Creek restaurant, Sequoia Lodge - Lovely restaurant and buffet. Salad Bar was fab and included peel and eat prawns. Loads of choice in main courses, chicken nuggets, chips, pizza etc for kids who could also eat adult options including roast meats, casseroles, lasagne and loads of vegetables! A delicious dessert buffet included cheesecakes, chocolate mousse, fresh fruit salad, gateaux and delicious crusty bread to cut yourself and cheeses. The half board plus meal option includes a soft drink, we also bought a half carafe of wine only 6e.
Lucky Nugget Saloon – Tex Mex buffet, girls loved the atmosphere, we sat in rows like a music hall? Plenty of characters came to the table including Minnie, spent time with girls. Lovely choice of food, salad bar, delicious soup, fajitas, spag bol, chilli etc as well as usual chicken nuggets and pizza. Similar dessert bar as prev but also included delicious crepes and ice lollies!
Auberge de Centrillion – before it became a princess meal not sure if still included on this plan. Beautiful restaurant and excellent service. Buffet appetisers included soups, crusty bread and salad bar. Main course selected from menu, adults chose salmon and girls pasta all delicious on lovely china plates decorated with Cinderella’s mice. Buffet dessert bar similar to other 2 restaurants which girls loved at every restaurant.

This meal option is excellent value for money and includes lots of fresh fruit and vegetables! :goodvibes Choice of 14 restaurants listed on Disneyland Paris official website. You can also use vouchers at face value to more expensive restaurants but would then not gain 15% discount. Also felt restaurants with buffet dessert bars better for girls especially with new limited childrens menu at non-buffet restaurants. (Also loved Belle Notte counter service pizza meal).
Hope this helps, haven’t posted on this board before but wanted to share my experiences. Booked again for 4 nights/5 days at Newport Bay in August, Admirals floor and will definitely buy the half board plus meal plan again, this time going with husband, daughter aged 8 and son aged 13.

Re: Auberge de Cendrillon read on another forum that the change in menu to the Prince/Princess meal means that 2 meal vouchers now have to be used to cover the cost - Does that make sense ?
I've not used the half board option myself. :)

Lovely that your first post was to offer help to a poster :goodvibes

thank you so much that really helps about the rooms and definately about the half board/ plus Wendy, thanks for all the detail!! I hadn't thought of only buying half board for part of the holiday because you can buy by the day can't you?

As newbie's we are torn between booking for 3nights/4 days and 4 nights/ 5 days- any advice on a good length of time for a 2 and 4 year old, I don't want them to get fed up as I know its not as big as WDW.

Hi!
When we went in March we were complete newbie's to any Disney park.
We went for 5 nights/6 days and weren't fed up at the end at all. Our kids were 8 and would happily have stayed even longer.
In your position I would go 5 days and have a chance of a break on day 3 in the middle to give the kids a rest and use the pool, it will make your trip so much more relaxed to do things at a pace you're happy with and not feel rushed.
I definatly don't think they'll get fed up :)
