Request for Garden View at GF???

I was hoping to call tonight and adjust our stay one day at the Grand Floridian and was thinking I should put in a request for a certain building or location.

So here is what we would like. Close to Gasparillas and boat dock. We would love to have the best view available, so is there any building location that would give us a chance of a water view for a garden view price!

Based on your requests, I think these buildings would be your best choice:

Sago Cay ~ closest to Gasparillas, probably farthest from the boat dock (6 minute walk) large selection of garden view rooms that do overlook the marina. Probably the quietest building and there's a little pathway beside it that leads right to the bus stop.

Conch Key ~ closest to the boat dock, about 4 or 5 minute walk to Gasparillas. I think this building has the prettiest garden views, but there's very little chance you'd see any water.

Boca Chica ~ closest to the garden courtyard pool, 3 to 4 minute walk to either the boat dock or Gasparillas. If you can get a high floor, overlooking Narcoosees, you can see some water and partial view of the castle. Only a few rooms would give you that view.

Thank you Tammi! Should I request high floor also for any of these buildings? Since I have a GV I will be in one of these buildings right. So how many floors are these buildings and do they have elevators? Also, do you have any idea which buildings they are working on for refurbishment? Are they just doing the main building with all the Conceirge stuff or are the buildings you listed getting refurbished too? If so do you have any guess if they will be done before I go in November. We are going the week before Thanksgiving for the MVMCP!

Garden view rooms are located in Sago Cay, Conch Key, Boca Chica and Big Pine Key. You could get placed in any one of them. I didn't mention Big Pine as a potential request, because I didn't think it really matched with what you're looking for. The buildings have 5 floors and they do all have elevators. I guess it's personal preference for which floor you'd like to be on. Some of the top floor rooms are smaller. They're referred to as dormer rooms. Most only have the 2 queen beds, no daybed and a cathederal ceiling. The balconies are smaller as well, but they are private and have a solid wood railing. People either love or hate these rooms. If it's not something you'd enjoy, you may want to avoid the top floor.

There's been no schedule posted of when each building will be done. The only confirmation that seems to have been reported, is that Sago Cay is currently undergoing rehab and that the honeymoon suites are next in line.
