Hi -

We're trying to plan a fairly large, complex, multi-family vacation for Disneyland in August, and it would be REALLY helpful if someone who is owner at the Grand Californian can check availability in advance of the 7-month window.

It won't really help you much. With the limited availability there, what you find out today could be drastically different tomorrow or for August like you want.

You could start walking a reservation if you really want it, but even then it could be just a crapshot because some of the days you need may already be gone.
 
Unless you have the points, are on the phone with MS at that very moment and can book it right then, as Deb & Bill said, checking availability is pointless. Availability at any DVC resort changes minute by minute.
 
ITs a roll of the dice. You have to be on the phone the day of your 7 month availability and at the exact minute the phones open. Vgc book solid even before the 7 month window.
