Request for Action Please VMK....

as in one minute a player is talking trash then the next minute poof they are gone from the game itself??????????????

I was on the docks yesterday and some players came out ofa game and were calling each other names, I am sure it was a carry over from the game they just played.

I reported them both and poof they were gone and I received the following message
(new one for me)

"Got it, done. thanks"

So thus my post. I think VMK has had enough also...not sure they have gone so far as poof pixiedust: they are gone from the games yet but saying that I was in a few games yesterday that rude players just disappeared from immedieatly after their rude bubble posted. Coinscience maybe / maybe not.

Time will tell.

Not to mention those rude players would then move on to HM, music or other games. :sad2: I have been in music where there was nasty people there too. I usually make sure there is at least one friend with me or ignore the bubbles. However, in pirates, I do read them because I am usually with a better player who gives tips and constructive critism to help. I haven't had one egging me on though like Mal. :rotfl:

It seems to me the only thing that would fix it would be implimenting one or more of the solutions offered here be put into place. Or other possible solutions not listed yet.

You are correct. They have moved their way to HM. I have never been cursed as much as I did on Saturday and Sunday for just winning games. I reported atleast 5 different individuals. I still can not believe why someone would use such horrible foul language in a game. We really need a report button in the game and we need vmk to take these seriously. Some of the words I heard would kick someone from a school as commiting an assult. I love playing against different players in both pirates and mansion as I like the challenge, but I can see after few more days of what I had to deal with the last few days I would have no choice but playing only with those who I know. :surfweb:

I reported a player for calling me a rude name in a game of pirates and got the standard use ignore button responce. I decided that I'm getting tired of that and decided to report that something was bothering me, that something being that I don't like being told to use the ignore button when I cannot find an ignore button in pirates. I got a response that there is no ignore button in pirates. I wish I hadn't closed it and had taken a screenshot of the message. I think I will continue to make reports like that if I get that response again and see if something can be done about rude people in pirates.

i am not sure if this has been said yet because i can't read the whole thread and it is getting quite long.

If somebody is using foul language in the game write their name down on a piece of paper and report them after. it might cause you to lose points but in the end you could make the bad player stop playing VMK, and get Ban.

I always have paper and pencil next to me now when i am playing pirates. I think i have now reported around 10 ppl since when I started about a month ago.

And VMK always give these same mesage to me use the ignore button. Which is impossible in the game. That should be another butten they add in the game. That could also help stratagy if you could only talk to your team mate.

That is just my opion but good point mal

Only talking to team mates or only see what team mates say isn't necesssarily good either. I've had my team mates say some really nasty stuff both to me and the other team. I don't know what the best solution would be, just as long as staff works on this issue and stops telling me to use the ignore button that doesn't exist in Pirate games.

yea they should add that button in there

I know what everyone means. I agree with Mal, they should start montiering the game. I play the game alot and have gotten pretty good at it. I have some great friends from playing pirates and we often call on each other to play games.

I do get annoyed sometimes when I lost but instead of saying mean things, I just yell at the moniter. Thus I'm getting the anger out of me and I won't get in trouble. The most I usually say is "gg :) and gl :)"

If someone annoys me or says something rude I always respond like this "Let's not be mean but be nice to every player in vmk. lets end it here. thank you :)" Sometimes if someone kills my ship, instead of being mean I will type "your very good at pirates. Keep up the good work :)"

Whenever there is a rude player I tell them to be nice. I try to be nice too. As hard as I can but sometimes I just have to walk away from the screen.

I'm not sure what to tolerate in pirates. Part of the problem is the game boils down to being hand to hand combat, especially in the battle version. In the battle version, your team must launch a personal attack on the players on the other team in order to win the game. It's hard not to take that personally. I think that is why we see more trash talk in pirates than we do in mansion.

I don't mind people cheering on their team in a positive way such as, "Nice shot!" or "Sink them!" I do mind people cheering on their team in a negative way such as, "Sink that more.on!" or "Sink those lose.hers!" I try to set a good example by saying things like, "gl", "gg" and even "Good shot!" to the other team. I figure it's polite and shows good sportsmanship to recognize the efforts and successes of the other team.

I don't mind some trash talk. It is a pirates game after all but there is no excuse for being mean and nasty to other players. Any trash talk should be good natured. Instead of "Sink those lose.hers" I'd rather see something like "Sink the scurvy scum." I don't get upset by the trash talk in general but to me using pirate language takes any sting out of the trash talk.

I don't want VMK to remove the chat feature from pirates. I prefer for them to do something positive like add a report button or an option to ignore chat from one or all players. Maybe they could add some sort of game buddies feature?

"Sink the scurvy scum." or "sink those Blue Tea pirates" is totally acceptable talk for a pirates game...in fact that is fun...

it is just the dictionary cursing that really ticks me off.

I totally agree.
The last three times I have reported for someone using such language in the pirates game, I get back a message saying next time report the player when the situation happens and they are in the same room as you.
I am just like, I was playing a game!!! I couldn't!!
I don't think any speech at all should be allowed during the game. I think there should be text options where you can only click on the phrase you want to say like good game, good try, ty, good luck and thats it!
If you don't like the message VMK sends you, feel free to report the situation as a something is bothering me. I was getting annoyed by being told to use the ignore button to not see chat that bothers me, so I decided to play dumb and ask for help locating the ignore button in pirates, where the chat that bothered me had occured. Later I got a message the there is no ignore game in pirates. The next time you get a message like that, maybe try asking how to report someone in the game? It seems like a valid question based off the message you recieved.
