Is it possible to request a certain rotation? I would think it would be ideal to have a formal night at Lumineres or pirate night at Parrot Cay. Does it really matter?
It hasn't ruined our cruise experience to not have formal night in Lumiere's or Pirate night in Parrot Cay. We have had a ball no matter which dining room we were in. On the Eastern we had APL so formal night was in Parrot Cay, tropical night was in Animator's Palate, and semi formal was in Lumiere's. Last western we were assigned PLA, which would have been the "hot" rotation, but we switched to APL in order to be in our favorite server's station.
I asked DCL when I called to pay off my balance. They put my request in the computer - we'll see if it works! We are on the Eastern in April and were hoping for Formal Night in Lumieres and Pirate Night in Parrot Cay, so we asked for PLA. If we get it, great, if not, no big deal. I'll let you know when we come back!
I requested the same rotation we might as well get together soon because at the rate we're going we'll probably be at the same table!!!
I will have to arm wrestle you for the spa appts though
We love Animator's Palatte, and usually have kids with us, so we've always requested that. We went there 4 nights on the 10 day!
We request our rotation by calling DCL directly and having them make a note on our reservation. That way it's already what we want when we board and we don't have to run around and stand in line to request a change. That gives us more time to eat shrimp and run to the spa to make reservations!
Nope we have ours with a travel agent. But I called to link another reservation with ours for dinner (friends from the Dis boards and the CHristmas Cruise) and requested it at that time, no problem!
We have called DCL and "requested" to have a certain rotation....we got it 2 out of three requests on our cruises.
DCL's stance is that it is a request only...no guarantees so don't be disappointed if you don't get the rotation you prefer. As posted above you can then go to the dining changes table onboard and request it again there.
We have sailed 13 times on all different rotation...even though it was nice to be in Lumiere's on formal, it did not detract from our enjoyment of the cruise one bit when we had other rotations......it really is not that big a deal.

On our cruise, a year ago this coming week, we wanted the same rotation as you. What we did was go to Beat Street (Diversions club I think) when we got on board and there were a couple of headservers there trying to acomodated people who wanted to make changes. We were fortunate and got the rotation we wanted and also got paired up with a wonderful family from N.C.
Don't know if they still do this, but it is worth a try. Good luck.
