Has anyone ever done this? First few days at sea the 2nd week of Nov on the way to San Juan. I was wondering how many days into it until it is warm enough to use the pools and what the kids do all day when it is not. Thanks.

No one has ever done this at least on DCL. DCL will heat the pools when needed.in November it could be nice or cold. I'm from south jersey I know on thanksgiving I was wearing shorts also on Christmas. But yesterday on April 9 it snowed.

dclpluto, you hit the nail on the head. It's more like November than November was.

We' ve sailed other lines from NYC to south at that time of year. By the second day you're usually far enough south for warmth. On DCL, don't forget there's plenty for kids other than the pools.

And we are booked for this one ! Can't wait.

I agree that there is plenty of other stuff to do. We never do the pools.

Also frim South Jersey!

I sailed out of NYC on RCCL this past March and the pools in the enclosed areas where full of people by the second day. The outside family pool didn't appear to be used until we got down near Florida.

Thanks. About how long did it take you to get down to Florida?

My wife and I have been debating this one too. Is the trade off of no airfare vs. 3 days onboard until you can relax outside in the warmth wotrth it? I guess you could get lucky but I dont want to hope for luck.

For me, I think no flight at all is worth no days outside LOL (I truly hate flying).

Just being able to take NJ Transit to the ship is incentive enough for us. I do remember going in the hot tub on our DCL cruise to Canada in September a bunch of years back.

My first airplane flight ever was to San Juan and I remember very little except the hotel. This time I will hopefully remember more!
