A "repositioning" cruise is any cruise where the ship is changing her homeport. So, any cruise that starts in one port, and ends in a different port, where the ship will then do round trips out of that port, is a repo cruise.which is sort of like a repo cruise IMO)
I've heard that repositioning cruises on other cruise lines may be less expensive than their regular cruises. Is this the case for DCL?
The cost per day on repo cruises on DCL is lower than on other DCL cruises, but the fact that they are longer cruises still make them expensive, at least much more than repo cruises on other lines. I’m talking about Panama and Transatlantic cruises that are 10-14 days. The repos using San Juan as a transit point are priced the same as regular cruises in the Caribbean.I've heard that repositioning cruises on other cruise lines may be less expensive than their regular cruises. Not sure if the transatlantic cruise from Dover to NYC is what you call repositioning cruise but it was fantastic. We did it in September 2018. Great value. Plus 4 days at sea in a row, great weather, and terrific entertainment. I’d do it again.
