The Parks are Crowded!!! We arrived before opening and got into Fantasy Land first thing, so we accomplished alot very quickly. But after that first 2 hours, it was insane.

At 5:00 this evening, they announced that the park would remain open an extra hour. I asked about fireworks times when the park is open later, and it's still at 8:00 as scheduled.

Parade Tip: We sat right across from the Crystal Arcade and that was the PERFECT spot to sit! The parade stopped right in front of us for their show, and our two kids (ages 4 and 6) were brought out to be a part of the parade a few different times. The highlight for them:)

My son was chosen for the Jedi Training Academy again, which made his day! DH made a sign with a picture of Darth Vader on it and above it said "Vader Hater" and below it said "Texas Jedi Here". The jedi master got a kick out of that and asked if he could keep the sign.

All in all we had a great day, but boy we were shocked to see how crowded it was still.

Still need to figure out the whole picture posting for you guys! 2 days down, and 2 to go...I'll keep you all posted!!popcorn:: Happy Dreams! :wizard:

Lucky you're a part of the Dis and know the tips for a crowded park. I hope things continue to go well for your family! Have fun.

Thanks for the parade tip!! Sounds like things are going well in spite of the crowds. Hope the rest of your trip is wonderful! :wizard:

Hey there IBLarsen! How's McKinney these days? DS and I lived there 2006-2008 but Southern Calif. is our original home so we had to come back, family here and all. How was the weather at DL today? We were there Sat. for my B-Day and it was Texas hot and muggy. :rotfl:

Hope your all having a great time. Take care.

We've only been in McKinney for about 2 years now, we like it fine, it's a nice area, but we are from Colorado, and Texas is so FAR from everything!......And yes, Texas is HOT! The weather at DL was definately warm, but by no means unbearable. I'm glad it dropped a few degrees before our trip started! And Happy Birthday DisnyMama!
